  • Boats should be on water.

  • In H.K & China there are a lot of big hydrofoil boats that carry 450 passengers or tourist

  • Advantage #6: Improved visibility!

  • The problem w/Hyrdofoil is the boat launch average 2-5 feet. So how would one launch and/or load its hydro boat? Not very practical. How would you dock your boat in most lakes?

  • What is the point of this vessel.

  • @pznerd did you not listen to the words... better speed, less drag... more fuel efficiency.. pretty obvious if you think about it....

  • NO NO NO! The hydrofoil was invented a LONG time ago not from dumbass losers trying to human power a boat.

  • So you like Hydrofoils I see. Well do you also like Musicals. If so check out "Hydrofoil - The Musical".

It tells the journey of one mans quest to become foil-borne

  • visita la web boatsport punto es

  • would the bottom of the boat hit the bottom of what ever body of water its in?

  • the russians laugh at US' attempts, so do I ;)

  • @o0murphyslaw0o - and the Americans cry at the Russians' attempts to keep food on their tables.

  • us will soon face civil war, since obama is not an elected "president" of the US ...

israel will get punished for commiting 911

at least i hope so lol

USA is done, they are a 3rd world country

  • @o0murphyslaw0o obama is tryin 2 turn th USA into a 3 world country like fuckin africa

  • Lol How does that thing do in shallow water?

  • high performance and high endurance in rough water?? i'd like to see that..

  • old school, put a rocket in the submerged nose creating a gas cavity for the torpedo port on to run in. thus in war power, dash speed could reach 120 miles per hour. great for out running the latest generation torpedo's ect ect.

hope you get a nice grant. i personally wouldn't use a rocket, just a gas turbine

that runs a centrifugal compressor for the high pressure gasses. much cheaper safer and sustained war power. the technology is off shelf. if you dont do it i will.

  • Maaaan, keep that thing away from the shoals or youre FUCKED

  • its more fun to ride Lpacks i gurenteit.

    \

  • they need more power, so they called chuck noris!!!

  • my grandad once captianed a boeing hydroplane

  • thats all fine but it probably has a 20ft draft at slow speeds wont be seeing one of those here in intercostal Florida.

  • That would be a GREAT drug runnin boat!! Hide all the drugs in the Torpedo and when the USCG pulls you over its all hidding under the boat!! =) And it's sittin like a regular boat...

  • I agree lol, Great Drug Running Boat.... U see USGC and u slow down lol

  • @SWMoneyMaker And you do realize that federal authorities have divers on hand to check the hull of your boat? You don't think drug runners have thought of strapping drugs underneath their boats? Cigarette boats are better, since they are super fast with sufficient cargo room. Look it up.

  • @SWMoneyMaker LOL! That's probably what they're using it for...

  • @SWMoneyMaker and you think the USCG has no eyes yes? they will see the boat before you see them. so they will know whats going on with it...

  • @Scorpac But at that point you shoot them, and drag their corpses to international waters..

  • @SWMoneyMaker why conditional?

  • If shit hits the fan it flies off in all directions.

The term fly can be used for things without wings.

I travelled from Budapest to Vienna on an old hydrofoil and it felt like I was flying. It certainly wasn't floating.

    Call it what you like.

  • Turn this concept into a UHV and you've got yourself a near perfect weapon; I like to call a "pirate killer". This particular design would slice those pirate longboats in half and give them a long swim back to think about their crimes.

  • just commit suicide now. you don't need to bring your boat. no one really cares. have a nice day

  • Does not look very practical to me????

  • hydrofoils are not flying this is retarded, if there is a peice of the craft in the water it is still IN THE WATER!

  • Wrong. Hydrofoils do fly, but the medium they fly through is water.

  • wrong, definition of fly:

    # travel through the air; be airborne; "Man cannot fly"

    # move quickly or suddenly; "He flew about the place"

    # operate an airplane; "The pilot flew to Cuba"

    # transport by aeroplane; "We fly flowers from the Caribbean to North America"

  • Common terminology assumes air is the medium; try talking to a naval architect or engineer. Airfoils fly through the air. Hydrofoils fly through the water, that's why they are called hydrofoils. That's the basic way we look at it in the Navy, anyway.

  • no, to fly is to float in air. air is the only medium that fly applies to, look it up.

  • As I wrote earlier, COMMON terminology assumes air is the medium. Terminology usage varies by profession, and dictionaries don't cover hydrodynamics. I worked for the organization named in this video. Hydrofoils fly under water.

  • whatever, i dont beleive it but its pointless to argue

  • You've made a nice try at educating a small mind. However they frequently crouch behind familiar prejudices and strongly resist anything new.

  • The principle of lift through forward motion of a wing is technically flying, through air or liquid. Being open minded is essential to scientific progress. If you think a boat cannot fly through water you're limiting your inventive thought process

  • So I'm correct if I say I'm going to hop on a plane and float to the Carribean...

The term foil is a reference to the wing hydro for the medium, as in aerofoil. Hydro foil doesn't mean fly.

  • blimp or regular boat would float. Fixed wing aircraft certainly doesn't float. Neither does hydrofoil boat when foil-borne.

  • every hear of a flying boat, its a sea plane that lands the whole body in the water instead of just pontoons.

  • That's where Gyroscope's come into play. For their simple design, they control balance in any situation more effectively than anything else.

  • Yea, it was great fun. I couldn't decide if I was air sick or sea sick, though.

  • ok we get it... you have a 57 foot bayliner. good job

  • only on special boats u can install this hydrofoil my 57 footer bayliner cant

  • what if that hydro foil concept of yours hit an under water obstacle with it's foil, would that ruin it

  • Hydrofoils hitting things underwater (e.g. trees, whales) are a problem for any hydrofoil craft, not just this one.

  • wat if ur in shalow water the hull will be hitting the botem so u cant rely stop inles ur in deep water

  • nice

  • Very impressive. The only disadvantage I can see it that it draws what looks like at least 14 feet, which is a problem in many areas.
