  • Nice!

  • @madbutcher1986 Thanks!!!

  • Is there a technique you use to get that sorta punchy, sorta scratchy rhythm around 0:26, or is it just a function of that particular mandolin and your play style?

  • @valsintar I don't really know. All I'm doin is liftin as I fret so it isn't a continuous chord and chopin with the other. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

  • hey thanks man. ive been learning songs by ear recently and its been pretty hard but i just keep working at it. the more i try the more i get i just have to play the song over and over to figure it out. and sometimes i just try to find the quarter notes to help learn more from then.

  • i have a question how did you learnthis song? by ear tabs or what? im kinda a newb and have been learning most songs by ear and have hard times with songs like this.

  • @splatmaster I learn most songs by ear, but somtimes by playing with others, if you see how the guitar or banjo play it you can steal those licks! I don't play the song exactly, I just get close sometimes. This song is in Gm if that hepls any. This is a variation on the Bill Monroe version here on you tube. If I can help in any way let me know and I'll try-Dan

  • Very nice -- I play this tune as well -- we must be on the same wavelength because I've been thinking of posting it as well -- might do it this weekend! Liked those harmonics at the end. Keep on picking!
