  • I AM GETTING MY FIRST LASER HAIR TREATMENT DONE ON NEXT TUESDAY. THEY WILL BE USING YAG LASER. I AM SCARED TO GET PERMANENT HYPER PIGMENTATION. IS IT COMMON?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANSWER! IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING PLEASE HELP.

  • Electrolysis is less expensive for smaller areas (as far as I know) than lase and more expensive (highly) than laser in larger areas but it is actually more painful.. Electrolysis removes hair permanently but Laser on the other hand doesn't.. laser only reduces hair growth by usually 90% or 80%.. And if you go to a skilled electrologist u wouldn't likely get scars

  • are there different types of laser treatment ?

  • Electrolysis is the ONLY method of hair removal that the FDA and AMA recognize as being 100% permanent. You can look this up on the FDA website. Some lasers have been cleared to claim permanent REDUCTION, but not permanent REMOVAL The honest laser clinics will only give you a 2 year guarantee, IF you ask. That's it - 2 yrs.. Also, the acronym LASER stands for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emmision of Radiation". The laser clinic will not tell you that either.

  • This might be a stupid question, but can someone with acne-prone skin get laser hair removal?

  • yay! Thank you for this vid! :) What about IPL? :S

  • I'm a 24yr old male who just got my first treatment last week. It's not really painful with numbing cream. After your treatment your face is a lil red (kind of like being sunburned) about 3days after treatment your hair grows back thick!! It's bc it's shedding I guess, but you have to keep a close eye on your skin. I broke out horribly bad with ingrown hairs all over the treated area! I'm still pissed off about it!! I'm guessing bc the hair damage from the lazar and thicker. I want to continue

  • @sweetgirl619 you need more than one treatment around 5 treatments and you also need to return for maintenance treatments if you want best results.

  • What kind of license do you need to use laser hair removal for clients/customers?

  • I heard that after laser hair removal the hair starts to grow back after 4-5 years. Is it true or possible?

  • @AlicelnWonderIand its not permanent you have to return for maintenance treatments every year to avoid hair grouth. I had lazer hair removal and its been almost three years, some of it has grown back but never the way it used to before treatment. Im verry happy with the results and Its money well spend. I recommend it.

  • How come the laser doesn't remove hairs that are lighter than skin color? How does the laser work, it doesn't just nuke the hair follicle so that it doesn't grow back?

  • my mom had laser hair removal for her face and it left it uneven. she has really small bumps in some spots now and around her mouth, it looks like she has smokers lines but he never smoked and didn't/doesn't drink through a straw every day.

if you wax enough, won't it just damage the hair grown anyway?

  • Which procedure is cheaper?

  • For women within the age group of 18-35 excessive facial hair may come back and become worse than it was before the laser hair removal. Though electrolysis is more painful in comparison to laser, electrolysis is the most effective method of hair removal.

  • @oshinsr I dont agree, Im 29 and had lazer hair removal and im loving the results, as long as you go back for maintenance treatments you will be fine.

  • @vanezzy81 - I said it MAY come back and become worse than before laser hair removal. It is more likely for some women than others, esp. those who are genetically hairier than others and in particular ethnic groups. People should go to dermatologist supervised clinics for laser hair removal rather than technicians in spas.

  • @Purrrsuasive1 yeah unfortunatly me and my mom at the time got tricked into signing up for something that we shouldve waited a few years for, now after like 5 years of doing it its not going away!

  • most people need at least 6-8 laser treatments. I work as a laser technician and have never had anyone feel as if they were hair free after only 3-4 and I have worked with three different lasers.

  • @spalover89 I started to see amazing results after my 5th treatment

  • I am of asian descent and have had my under arms lasered. After 3 treatments, I can't even recall the last time I had to shave. I found it is a painfree treatment. Like a slight slap of an elastic band. I highly recommend this treatment. Highly recommend this technique.

  • WARNING: if you are a female and want to get laser hair removal NEVER get laser hair removal if you never got your period. i personally have been doing laser hair removal since 5th grade and the hair still hasnt gone away!:( oh and by the way both laser hair removal and electorlosis is painful (my mom used to get electrolosis)

  • @beautysbiggestfan1 The office where I go to made me wait until one year after my periods AND then made sure my cycle was normal before she would start. I agree, teens hormone change and our hair grows different. Everyone needs to be careful and make sure you're with a professional that understands teenagers and hormones.

  • you are always THE BEST!

  • Dr. Shultz what about dark skin AND dark hair?? What kind of laser would it be?

  • @MikiOkMu look into the Candela gentleYAG

  • @MikiOkMu Nd:YAG laser: 1064 nm (Near-Infrared) made for treating darker skin types, though effective on all skin types.

  • What about IPL? Is that permenant and more effective then laser?

    Thank you

  • can anyone that has had laser hair removal tell me how much it hurts? honestly? i'm going to have it done regardless, i just need to know HOW much it hurts...

    much appreciated :)

  • @smiah94 Expensive where I go. I think it was like 1500? I paid two years ago and I STILL go every 4-6 weeks, but it was a one time charge and I have never been asked to pay anymore than the initial 1500.

  • @smiah94 It hurts a little.. it's like you are being poked with a needle kinda deep.. and there it is done (for me at least, I don't know if it is like this everywhere) in about 10 paces.. so it feels like a needle poking you 10 times. It actually does hurt, but not unbearable. And once the laser is off, it doesn't hurt.

  • @smiah94 belive me the pain which i got from the laser hair treatment is nothing compared to the electrolyses. With electrolysis u feel a needle stick deep into ur skin and at the same time comes heat..while with laser it selfs u only feel "heat" or skin is "burning" .. bt when the hair is permanantly gone its all worth it!

  • I got laser hair removal on my underarms-best investment I ever made and it's not dark like it use to be.

  • the product called the NONO is that effective?

  • Can red hair be removed with laser?

  • I got laser hair removal, and i dont have to shave ever again!!!

  • thanx! the salons never explain anything properly!
