The incredibles and Team fortress certainly share a lot in common design-wise, both influenced by 1950's American art styles, both fit in the action spy thriller genre and since they're both 3D characters that just seals the deal in terms of appearance. Both are superb, artistic franchises :) Pixar and Valve should collaborate on something (or maybe they already have dunno) it would be amazing I'm sure.
i have no idea but when i first bought the orange box for the pc, and i saw tf2, that was the only game i hadi hadnt played until a whole year later. i really had a feeling this was somewhat related to the incredibles lol
@TheAmazingDom No, maybe, WHAT IF, they are fapping so hard, all day everyday that they have this sudden urge to fap when they are using their mouses. They spaz out in a weird function that, in the end, causes them to SLAM the mouse on the dislike button.........idk. Just go with it.
The game does have similar art style to The Incredibles and the characters look similar. Btw this is a great video cause the music worked really well.
its the song playing and the animation, it really to me (because this the first time and vid ive ever seen of team fortress) the increadbles 3(after the underminer)
Just thought of something else. Chell's jumpsuit in 'Portal' lo0ks a lot like the jumpsuits worn by Axiom passengers in 'WALL-E'. Wall-E himself has a Black Mesa motif (even to the point that he lo0ks like one of the robot loaders combined with a forklift) while Eve has an Aperture motif (surgical white and stark black accented with a single color).
Frozone kind of reminds me more of the Demoman then Eli. Not just because they look similar, but also because of the thing where Frozone makes the trail of ice so he could glide near the final battle kind of reminds me of sticky-jumping.
That works to0. Eve also lo0ks kind of like an Aperture turret. Wall-E also lo0ks kind of like those robot loaders in Half-Life and Opposing Force. Plus, there are lots of forklifts and towabale generators throughout the Half-Life series that remind me of Wall-E.
I thought TF2 WAS Incredibles when I first saw clips of it in YTPs, I thought they were scenes I didn't remember or were cut out. Heavy looks like Bob, the Demoman looks like Frozone, the Scout runs fast like Dash, Violet turns invisible like the spy. It could be influenced by the movie or Pixar, not a bad influence for a 3D rendered game. They both have the jazzy music, you can use the TF2 outro as a preview of The Incredibles.
Cool! I always thought someone should make a Team Fortress 2 video and have somthing from The Incredibles put in, because Team Fortress 2 (including the "Meet the Team" videos) DOES remind me of The Incredibles.
too bad u dont look like most of those characters in the game and the guns are totally different and when the pyro was in that room th sign was from tfc!
Since TF2 and The Incredibles are both set to happen in the 60's, it natural that they pick the same art of music, and it's probably also where VALVe got their ideas to TF2, or at least some of them.
Thats not true at all. The Incredibles takes place in the present. Valve got inspiration from the general Pixar animation style. not just the incredibles
Then how comes they use a lot of 50's and 60's elements in the first 10 minutes of the movie, and then skips ONLY 15 years? Meaning they should be around 1965-75 at that time?
By 50's and 60's elements, I mean:
low quality interview camera
Old concept costumes (seriously, only superman still runs around in that crap)
The good old car chase
The style of the cars (No car looks like a box on wheels today)
This is kind of funny because since the first time I heard of TF2 it always reminded me of the Incredibles. Especially how Heavy weapons guy slightly resembles Mr.Incredible. :S
yea well back in the days of tfc every was original, but when tf2 came out i brought it ASAP, my first notice of the game is "WERE IS THE NADES? AND THE CONCS?" i was happy but sad at the same time but when i played it i didn't care about nades anymore cause everything of every class is even so no more annoying nades or spamming spy pills
Wow, the designs underwent such minor, but utterly crucial differences in making TF2 what it is now.
I see mostly that the characters got a bit more of a relaxed look along the way. More maniacal and less serious. The Medic is a prime example. From Nazi like badass to vocal, German accented mad-scientist type.
That's the point. Do you see the similarities between Team Fortress 2 and the Incredibles? The animation is similar, the music is some what similar, (Domination and Revenge) and there design style are the same. This video just brings out the idea of there similarities and lets you think about it.
itll probably in the next one, and maybe there will be a new type of sticky bombs, but im really waiting for the engineer pack, who knows what he'll make next?!

Heavy = Mr. Incredible. Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device = Eve. Gordon Freeman = Wall-E (humanized). Eli Vance = Frozone. Plus, Syndrome uses Zero Point Energy.
Gotta wonder if the Valve artists and Pixartists didn't all study at CalArts (in ro0m A-113). XD
