This actually was filmed in the old Hippodrome Theatre in Boscombe near Bournemouth , it was actually a Vaudeville Theatre,Stageing rather Risque Burlesque shows and closed in the early 60's, Not sure where the OPERA connection comes in !! I believe the interior is listed and still has several balconys and the 'GODS' right at the top where you could watch the shows on hard benches for one shilling and six pence,converted to dance hall 1966.
