  • got to see live skull twice in the midd 80s great band.

  • LMAO @ ripping up Cloud One which is now rare and out of print!

  • One of my all time favourite bands, really wish these guys would reform. This particular lineup of course, which was by far the best !

  • Filmed exactly 25 years ago--well, almost... :-)

  • It's great that this was captured on video! I remember seeing the band a number of times in the 80s. Absolutely classic sound.

  • i am stoned right now!

  • I got just one LS record, and I love this band.

  • Their best track, just awesome.

  • Great song. Have one LS record, and this on that old Homestead Records Comp. with Dinosaur Jr. and Volcano Suns. Gorgeous.

  • @Teetee33 Wailing Ultimate!

  • @starkweather444 Yes, Wailing Ultimate, indeed. I think I paid six bucks for that tape. Not that easy to find commercially anymore. Luckily, I still have mine--and it still plays! :-)

  • Excellent band,im really wondering of their guitar tunings, blasting!!Im watching it over and over-;)

  • This is so, so great, even if part of the rush is the completely unheard of rarity of vintage LS video. If Greg had been a drummer he would have caught a lot more of James.

  • Awesome video!!! This is precisely why youtube was invented.

  • way deeper than sonic youth imo. Sonic Youth were more a stoner's band.

  • @PliSsK i am a stoner and i prefer live skull. but i like early sonic youth i guess that was more stoner like master dik bro.

  • @starkweather444 What I mean is that they have real soul and sincere emotional expression and can be enjoyed by stoners and non-addicts alike, whereas Sonic Youth lack character and didn't have much to say about anything really. Ideal for mindless stoners and teens. Name calling is highly purile btw. It makes you look less intelligent that you might actually be.

  • @PliSsK I didnt call you a name Master Dik is the name of a Sonic Youth 12". If you don't know that I am not sure you are a really good judge of what Sonic Youth actually is. Your statement seems like bull shit anyway "this band is better fo stoners", that is stupid. Just because you smoke weed doesn't mean you listen to different things than non stoners or one thing sounds better. That is some made up shit you said.

  • @starkweather444 i think he meant...this band is more 'natural' 'spacey' 'intuitive'.........things which, the lack of linear logic, may find more appealing.

  • THE JAMES LO!

  • Ahead of their time...

  • Think we all agree this one GREAT band!! - I love all their records - did see them once in the late 80's, (or early 90's perhaps) - - Amazing, Intricate, Intense sound! - Thalia was in the band then - I like their stuff after Thalia joined as much as the earlier stuff! - 'Positraction' is an amazing record! - Yes, please re-form!!

  • @sirdoug3 positraction is as good as 'sgt pepper'...............really!

  • Totally love this song. Totally love this band. And, yep, I prefer 'em before Thalia joined too but EVERYTHING they did was pretty fantastic tbh. Soooo... how do we persuade 'em to reform, huh? IBx

  • So much better before Thalia Zedek joined!

  • True. After James left the edge was gone. TZ was a no-go for me.

  • @rtyphus

    yes inDEED

  • @rtyphus i disagree.......only the drumming got worse -- the music got more itnricate, plus she sang like marty balin: what can be wrong with that?

  • @rtyphus that's not true.........they were evolving.......fortunately they stopped at their masterpiece 'positraction' before devolving into occasional normalcies ala sonic youth.

  • I never thought I'd ever see any Live Skull on Utube. Thankee very much.

  • james lo.....awesome

  • one of my favs from the 80s, along with sun city girls mighty sphincter and rat at rat r.....they were so good and really grew with each release.........im a big fan of the last ep and lp with thalia, who is [not] in this video

  • Great band. I have all their albums--except the semi-official John Peel Sessions. Does anyone out there have a copy of that...? What was it released on, vinyl or disc? Even some of the biggest Skull fans are in the dark about this 4-track release....

  • Go Thalia Zedek!

  • she hadn't joined the band yet....that's Marnie Greenholz

  • I was there..............awesome video.

  • fantastic video!
