Well i have DC 210 and i m very much disappointed because it doesnt have a USB Port to transfer the data to PC. I tried so many things that if somhow i could transfer the videos and images to my PC but no use. its of no use. and the stl image quaily is also very bad.

this camara aint very good....

- no light. can't record in the dark.

-can't edit them on the computer

-can't convert files

- can't record on miniSD

- can't play minidvd on most dvd players...(finalized)

-and what backfiredplans said....its basically a playback camera.

i got this camera for my birthday a year and a half ago, the guy at the best buy said it was great for the internet and video editing, and after a year and a half of struggling with converting files to put it on editing software i find its basically a playback camera only... some bullshit

u have to finalize the DVD first then u put the mini DVD into ur computer then open up the canon folder then ull seelike dcim or sometinh click on 1 of the 2 boxes try both of them the if is white click on 1 of the vids like the 1 after the 1st one cause the first is not a vid its the thing that records it so click on 1 of the vids after the memory thing the right click go to properties go to open with then put wondows media player then click ok then open it it will open up W.M.P hope this helps

on the pc and then put them on youtube. So i heard you have to finalize the disc and i have used all the space on the disc but it still wil not let me finalize the disc! so i cant edit the video on my disc. so any ideas?

This guy definitely has no clue what he's talking about.

I mean he says "get rid of those square TVs" - LOL, first they're not square (a bit wider than high - 4:3) and second they're not crap, they are the *best* display device for SDTV, so they have their right to exist.

Also camcorders that give reduced resolution when recording in 16:9 aren't produced anymore, the very first cheap Mini-DV and Digital8 Camcorders had that issue.

I would recommend you look up the Samsung SC-MX20 defintly! Its a flash memory HD camcorder with 34x optial zoom, a 2.7" LCD screen and its easy to upload to youtube hense the name "youtube cam". and for all that its really cheap!

I´m From Mexico. I have the DC50, and I can Transfer my videos to my pc, without problems, and I can edit the videos with sony vegas and Sony DVD Architect 4.5, No Problem with the transfers, The problem with this cameras is the quality of the video, the video of this camcoders (DVD Format) is not for edit. DC50 is an excellent Camera.

The DC210 that I bought is a lot of fun, but I have a problem as it doesn't link up to My PC, and the Microsoft XP Movie Maker Software doesn't recognize the computer's DVD drive as a potential video input source. There are other Mini-DVD camcorders that sport USB or Firewire connections, but all the DC210 seems to have is the analog TV and VCR cable. I am looking for other software, but I wish that I didn't have too.

I'm looking to buy a camcorder pretty soon but I don't know what is good or bad. Does anyone have advice what I should buy. I'm looking for one that can easily convert to DVD, easily hooked up to the computer where I can change sequences and add effects (stuff like that), has HD, and it good to shoot small videos. I'm going to a theme park pretty soon and I want to be able to shoot on ride videos.

Meh, I got the DC210 from Christmas and it wasn't what I had hoped for. If you are looking for just a "point and shoot" kinda camera, then get this. But if you are trying to make short films or any type of video that requires some editing, I don't recommend this one.

hey i i have a quastion about the cmacored.

I RECORD TO MINI DVD DISCS, but how can i save the footage to my computer?? i insert the minidvd in my computer dvd tray, and nothing happens. i cna not extract the footage in this way. is there another method, such as a special software, or cable etc. thank you. i really need to save my videos to my computer. thanks again

I havent used mini dvd ive always used tapes.But what you could do which i do with tapes is, if you have a dvd+rw player,Plug your camcorder into the dvd+rw player and record it onto a normal dvd discs, you can also edit as well buy pausing record on the player you cant see the cut at all.HOPE THIS HELPED.

no. it records as a .VRO file which is RARELY supported my video editing programs. Also, Canon does not provide software to convert (even converters rarely support it). Kinda fishy that Canon neglected to tell people that.
