Funny how Zangief only uses Spinning Piledriver, drives me nuts, hope im not the only one. I also put 2 CPU zangiefs to fight on the hardest difficulty, they just used spinning piledriver after another and nothing else really. Same goes with Seth

when playing ssf4 i put japanese voice for gameplay and english voice for cinamtic. my days on sf2 have always hear japanese voice gameplay so ss4 hearing english voice on gameplay dont sound authentic and its weird.
i like seeing ultra when the oponent is not finish. doing ultra and oponent lose show sun rise that took over the actual animation of ultra.

Yet their normal and special moves have INSANE priority, Ryu's ultra is good to a ridiculous point. What this means is that someone button mashing could have the upper hand in some situations without even knowing why. That'S why they are hated.
no listen, to be GOOD with Ken and Ryu you have to know EVERYTHING you are doing no mashing, if you seena true ryu then you'd be in shock, like look at Diagos ryu its insane, other characters are so unfair its digusting and they have so many moves and ppl dont do what they need to do they do what they want to do and repeat what they see its annoying.

In Japan and Hawaii, giving seconds is just a nice thing to do. You have to ask for it, though. Don't expect to get it automatically and never expect it in a close match.
what's wrong with this ken? first of all u have to do a lot of hadouken to keep him at distance so when he jumps you do double shoryuken and u have to do loads of punch-kick- tatsumaki combination that's how u beat zangief
in casual arcade matchs, if a player who won the first round also makes the 2nd round decisive (5% vs 100% health, or some other skewed ratio), he will usually throw the round so that the 2 of them can have more play time with a 3rd round.
nah but its not fair im a vega player and zangief next to balrog is my worst enemy. all he doe sis lariot all my moves so i have to try n keep him at bay n that hardly works since vega is already so weak. any vega players can help me out here
Well, I'm a Zangief player, and I have trouble with the Vega players that do that backflip away from my range, seriously it's a tough battle when your opponent runs away and pokes with charge attacks. You just gotta be patient in that kinda battle.
Vega has a very long reach with the claw and his kicks. I usually go near a Zangief and trick him into trying a grab, then I do quick back dodge and sliding heacy sweep kick, when he gets up you hit him with standing high kick and combo into izuna drop.
nice Gief. i play a mean one also. been 360'n it since Street Fighter II lol. and as far as him being cheap, nah dont fool yourself he has to overcome a lot to get those throws in.
i find that the best strategy when playing a jap in street fighter (or any other video game ever created by man) is what i call the forfeit technique. its just like math for them, they look at a book that tells them everything about it and then they practice it in secrecy until the wee hours of the morning.

To play as Zangief you have to be able to chase down much quicker opponents who not only have projectiles but can also jump higher. I'd say he's not a character most beginners use.
His Ultra requires you to be next to your opponent and you gotta pull two 360s on the d-pad or stick. There's also no range, if you're even a foot a way from the character you will miss.
You know... I really do believe the people that plays Street Fighter and says no character in Street Fighter is cheap. I take my words on Zangief back. It is about time everybody and myself face the reality of games where you have to use strategy to beat the game.

Yerka90, just spin your joy stick or arrow 270 degree not 360. if you can do it off the air i don't know how you couldn't do it of the ground. it just foward,down foward, down, down back, back, back up, then press any punch. don't go the whole 360 because you will jump each time you do it.
well, i was gonna rent it, but upon seeing this i'm glad i didn't. not to say sf is a bad game, but im not really a big fan of that fighting game style ever since smash came out.
It's easier to play with Zangief on Capcom v. SNK 2 because of the rolling. But even without the rolling the only time i can do all his grab moves is after i jump onto the opponent. I don't use ken at all but i do use Ryu, Blanka and E.Honda and especially Zangief.

I doubt it. Zangief is a Bison killer - the easiest character to fight against for Zangief is Bison. If someone knows even a little of how to fight with 'gief, he can beat most Bisons.
The reverse is true for Vega vs. Zangief. You have to be really good with 'gief to beat even a mediocre Vega player.
Not entirely... Green Hand still has decent range to get close to Vega, Zangief's Headbutt, if timed right, can rid any stupid jumping around shenanigans (also best stun damage in the game), and Lariat still beats most things...
Sagat is probably the better counterpick, but then again, he is a counterpick to everything... <_<

Not at all. Zangief is by far one of the more broken characters in the game and easy to capitalize with. Hit your opponent with one spiral pile driver and you did as much damage as his last 5 moves. Plus his ridiculous lariats, best stamina in the game, great arial priority... a good zangief is among the most dangerous thing in street fighter.
that's why it's harder for a pro zangief to go against pro's who use characters who can shoot projectiles. if you use Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Sagat, or Dhalsim, Gouken you can beat a Zangief

What the hell was Zangief doing in the 2nd match? In the first half of the match he dominated and got his enemy to 5%hp while 90% himself and then just failed O_O
It's called a "mercy round". The ken player wasn't in the same league as the Zangief player, so the latter gave the former a free round. Common courtesy sort of thing. If you do it, you do it. If you don't, no one would call you out on it.
Oh well I guess that makes sense. I thought he was just trying to land an ultra and couldn't set it up. That happens to me sometimes. I want the ultra combo finish and I can't set it up and lose because of it.
I play gief constantly, my favorite character by far. Those who complain about him should remember though, he has very little air game, so coming at him from above can work. Really you just need to stay out of his grab range, but don't rely too much on projectiles. Zangief has a million different ways to deal with them, by banishing, lariat, jumping, or his EX throw that gives him hyper armor. Also, don't stand next to him while he's getting up, it's begging an ultimate atomic buster.

Ugh Zangief is so flipping cheap. Why is he able to grab you in THE MIDDLE of combos? He has like a million health and his throws do like a quarter of your health each time.
He can only grab in the middle of block strings. If you're actually landing a combo, he can't magically grab out of hit stun. Th solution? Don't throw block strings against Gief.
No dude. I'd do a 4 hit combo and before the 4th hit I'd get grabbed. And yes, the 3 previous hits went through; he did not block. There was a time when I did a 3 hit combo and he did an ultra right before the 3rd move hit. And once again, HE DID NOT BLOCK. I was using Rose.

Well, I'm a Zangief player, and I have trouble with the Vega players that do that backflip away from my range, seriously it's a tough battle when your opponent runs away and pokes with charge attacks. You just gotta be patient in that kinda battle.

Vega has a very long reach with the claw and his kicks. I usually go near a Zangief and trick him into trying a grab, then I do quick back dodge and sliding heacy sweep kick, when he gets up you hit him with standing high kick and combo into izuna drop.

i find that the best strategy when playing a jap in street fighter (or any other video game ever created by man) is what i call the forfeit technique. its just like math for them, they look at a book that tells them everything about it and then they practice it in secrecy until the wee hours of the morning.

To play as Zangief you have to be able to chase down much quicker opponents who not only have projectiles but can also jump higher. I'd say he's not a character most beginners use.
His Ultra requires you to be next to your opponent and you gotta pull two 360s on the d-pad or stick. There's also no range, if you're even a foot a way from the character you will miss.

Cheap? No move in SF is cheap...either you can beat it or you lose.
So what are we to say about people who use Gouki/Gouken and spam fireballs?
Or crossup attacks against people who can't block it?
Or eHonda/Blanka players who just cannon ball you all day?
I deal with a lot of "cheap" players, its good practice at learning to beat people's primary moves.

Yeah, focus attack is actually better, jumping up is just asking to get wooped, you're wide open in the air, I suppose it depends on the play style.

Yerka90, just spin your joy stick or arrow 270 degree not 360. if you can do it off the air i don't know how you couldn't do it of the ground. it just foward,down foward, down, down back, back, back up, then press any punch. don't go the whole 360 because you will jump each time you do it.

It's easier to play with Zangief on Capcom v. SNK 2 because of the rolling. But even without the rolling the only time i can do all his grab moves is after i jump onto the opponent. I don't use ken at all but i do use Ryu, Blanka and E.Honda and especially Zangief.

you can do a grab with zangief without jumping. you can go B, DB, D, DF, F, UF, in stead of the full circle. hit P or K at the moment you hit UF.

I doubt it. Zangief is a Bison killer - the easiest character to fight against for Zangief is Bison. If someone knows even a little of how to fight with 'gief, he can beat most Bisons.
The reverse is true for Vega vs. Zangief. You have to be really good with 'gief to beat even a mediocre Vega player.

Not entirely... Green Hand still has decent range to get close to Vega, Zangief's Headbutt, if timed right, can rid any stupid jumping around shenanigans (also best stun damage in the game), and Lariat still beats most things...
Sagat is probably the better counterpick, but then again, he is a counterpick to everything... <_<

Not at all. Zangief is by far one of the more broken characters in the game and easy to capitalize with. Hit your opponent with one spiral pile driver and you did as much damage as his last 5 moves. Plus his ridiculous lariats, best stamina in the game, great arial priority... a good zangief is among the most dangerous thing in street fighter.

that's why it's harder for a pro zangief to go against pro's who use characters who can shoot projectiles. if you use Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Sagat, or Dhalsim, Gouken you can beat a Zangief

It's called a "mercy round". The ken player wasn't in the same league as the Zangief player, so the latter gave the former a free round. Common courtesy sort of thing. If you do it, you do it. If you don't, no one would call you out on it.

I play gief constantly, my favorite character by far. Those who complain about him should remember though, he has very little air game, so coming at him from above can work. Really you just need to stay out of his grab range, but don't rely too much on projectiles. Zangief has a million different ways to deal with them, by banishing, lariat, jumping, or his EX throw that gives him hyper armor. Also, don't stand next to him while he's getting up, it's begging an ultimate atomic buster.

Ugh Zangief is so flipping cheap. Why is he able to grab you in THE MIDDLE of combos? He has like a million health and his throws do like a quarter of your health each time.

He can only grab in the middle of block strings. If you're actually landing a combo, he can't magically grab out of hit stun. Th solution? Don't throw block strings against Gief.

No dude. I'd do a 4 hit combo and before the 4th hit I'd get grabbed. And yes, the 3 previous hits went through; he did not block. There was a time when I did a 3 hit combo and he did an ultra right before the 3rd move hit. And once again, HE DID NOT BLOCK. I was using Rose.
