  • @IoIocaust It's a command grab, so no, it cannot be reversed. It might be able to be avoided, though. Not sure.

    But you cannot reverse that grab.

  • @wiggi0620 All command grabs can be beaten in this game by executing a non-throwable reversal move.

  • @IoIocaust It's not a 100% combo, it's a grab setup that does 100%. There's a gap between when the combo ends and when the throw occurs, and if Honda doesn't negative-edge the throw he'll be vulnerable to a reversal. Characters like Zangief and T-Hawk can reversal grab or super. It's something you mix-up though for sure and not a guaranteed setup.

  • @pbrubaker Out of curiosity, how hard is it to escape? I know Zangief does some jab,jab,SPD setups that are nearly inescapable because you have a tiny single-digit frame window to reversal before he throws you, and because he can vary the number of jabs before SPD it ends up being monstrously difficult to get out.

  • @bamskull it does as long as it's a single fireball. this honda can got through fireballs with his weak head butt.

  • @jfachris ex headbutt doesnt go thru any fireballs in ssf4. if dat was the case then honda wud of had an easier time against shotos

  • I love that the older SF games have negative edge and motion storing abilities... can't do that in SF4 games at all.

  • @MrScrubkiller Not really. There is some scaling based on who one the previous round, and some randomness to the damage, but it will almost always kill the opponent.

  • @MrScrubkiller nope, which is why Balrog actually rapes, one of my favourite combos in the game:

    Jump HK - cr. jab - st. jab - st. jab - rush punch, destroys Sagat, watch footage of Street Fighter II when Daigo plays Balrog, he kills Sagat with two combos :P

  • I'm pretty sure both Zangief and Hawk can get in a command throw or SUPER after the HHS.

  • Ya, anyone can get out after HHS. Most people don't though.

  • Not like it matters much, if people reversal after HHS they will most likely get punished for their whiffed move. So it's a pretty neat combo, does it work in ST too?

  • You can actually jump out, there's that much time. Most players are a little shell shocked by it so they end up getting thrown.

    Ya it works in ST but it's much harder. In ST though, the Ochio does a shit ton of stun, so it has a much higher chance if rendering your opponent dizzy.

  • The wonders of not having a command throw whiff animation, one should attempt one at all times. Oh yeah Fierce Ochio's stun damage has always been up for debate in ST, since it does twice the stun damage of a normal throw and place you right untop of your opponent.

  • The no whiff doesn't really matter. Hawk and Gief have combos that end in throws. Basically my point here is that those players practiced that enough to be able to have the timing right. Most of the time anything those guys can do Honda would be able to do. The time Honda's throw is a bunch of crap is when his opponent is attempting to combo and misses, Honda wins there. Also, in ST all versions of Honda's Ochio did 2x dizzy. Not just fierce.

  • You can't combo into throws in ST as you know, so I can't imagine Gief comboing a throw, since there's that reversal window right before the SPD connects. Hawk can cross-up -> cr.jab -> cr.jab -> negative edge safe Typhoon attempt in ST. I can imagine Honda doing the same, but his throw has limited range IIRC.

    I'm not here to discuss whether or not vice versa is fair, thanks for clarifying that all Ochios do 2 x stun.

  • What are you referring to? Randomness? Like this isn't always 100%? 99.9% of the time this does 100% damage. Unfortunately there is some randomness in ST. Depending on some factors (like: if you won the first round, you are way ahead in life, or the game rolled the dice in your opponents favor) this may not do 100% damage. No I didn't mention that. Because most of the time this does 100%.

  • There is no damage adjustment. It's 100% default configuration. This isn't his only 100% combo either.

  • I believe it's 3 for light, 4 for medium, and 5 for fierce. At least that's what I come up with when I test it.

    This is what Sirlin's blog says, but I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't programmed correctly like a few other things in HDR.
