Are these twin-turbocharged or is there only one? Cause I though I saw 2 turbos sitting on top of the engine. But 3700hp is very low for something with alot of cylinders+turbocharged. I would really wanted to be at mid 4000hp

Haha funny you say only 2 leads were online.. This is standard these engines are utter rubbish. Only 2 weeks ago I think between the Mount yard and Te rapa yard we had 9 Dl's all parked up going nowhere for various reasons ground relays,fried traction motor's hahaha. Typical NZ not doing homework before a major purchase

I take it as being "part' of the so-called "Roller Coaster Railway" video (of two years ago) albeitly- in ANOTHER AREA of NZ's (less than well maintained) EX-NZR "owned" National railway system (now rundown by KIWI RAIL and just as obviously NOT as well maintained). Oh the sad "sad" demise- of ALL sectional TRACK GANGS - whom competed "against" their neighbouring trackworker (surfaceman) GANGS to "have" the BEST sections of track - prior to the initial amalgamations (around the 1960's & 1970's).

The sound of the horn is proof of the locomotives chinese origin. NZ can be proud to have these new loco's in operation.

@chrissun86 - Most Australian locomotives have horns that sound like this. Hearing the DL's toot, reminds me of railfanning in Aussie. The NR's have a similar horn, if not the same.

The more I hear their horn the more of a joke it becomes but apart from that im starting to like them.. if they want to give them a test go stick them on as bankers on the Otira Tunnel and that will give them a bloody good test
