How would this work?

It would make sense as a low powered laser that you paint the target with which nearby missiles could track, like conventional laser designators. But, why would missiles continue to "see" the laser once it's been turned off?

Now if it was somehow creating a unique radioactive tag which missiles could sense, that would explain why hitting the target longer would make the effect last longer.

Perhaps the missiles track the heat source generated by the laser's impact? A longer hit would generate a bigger 'spot' to track.

only thing im worried about is if at1:BT ever actually goes live with an online player syste this will be one of the most hated weapons in it because of it's team killing capability people will either be too scared to use it, or will just use it nearly 100% of the time incase someone else has it :O thats IMO of course and it's open to debate but yeah

It's Mechwarrior 2 re-done. They call it AT1/Battletech or Assault Tech Battletech. It's a new game for Vasta and it's free :))))))
