I am in it too and I find it's ok so long as you know how it works and adapt to its mechanisms.
it's quite easy for me as an artist to defend my "different-ship" or being odd. but it's nearly impossible to uphold the dignity if psychiatrists etc says "this is because of your brain" (neuropsychiatry). i'm not myself a direct victim of that kinds of diagnoses but we are all victims of this medicalisation because it impregnates fear into people who would otherwise have dared to be "odd", in other words themselves. this is highly depressing, don't you think?
