hey man i always like your lapse builds. You have done enough to have it down to a science, i have been flying for about 6 months. Its an expensive hobby but practice makes perfect.
May I have a quick question, do I have to do blade tracking after every flight or just once in a while is fine. If not, how often does the blade tracking need to be performed? Thank you very much and Merry Christmas mate :D
@BaoThyForever1991 Hi, no you don't have to do the blade tracking after every flight. I only ever do it during setup or if I crash the helicopter. You can tell by looking at the blades in flight weather or not the tracking required adjustment. Cheers and merry christmas to you too!
@kjoer Hey man, yes the blades in the stretch kit are suitable for flybarless setups (awesome in fact). Servo horns are included with the MKS servos. If you are running 6S, you need to change your motor pinion. I also would've recommended going a larger capacity battery for longer flight times (~ 1600mAh). Cheers,
Just ordered the exact same setup, apart from the LiPo, transmitter/receiver and charger. This will be my first decent size heli, as I've been flying a mCP X until now.
Good 6s LiPos for this bird are hard to find, I ordered two Outrage 6S 1300mAh 35C packs.
I have a DX6i transmitter (only one idle up) and AR6210 receiver, which I'll soon enough replace with a Futaba T8FG or Spektrum DX8.
The charger I have I'm already using for 1/12 scale electric on road, a Graupner Ultra Duo Plus 50.
@hpibajajumper The camera is mounted on a circular dolly frame and it is driven by stepper motors on the wheel, controlled by an Arduino open source microcontroller. My friend who is an Electronic Engineer helped me to write a program to 'step' the motor 1.8 degree, then fire the camera, then step 1.8 degrees (looped). We used two cameras for the time lapse, a Canon 60D 18-55mm f5.6 and a Nikon D9018-200mm. I need a better lense for shooting video, the stock one is rage material! haha
i notice that your trex 700e in the background doesnt have the facctory canopy. What canopy is on it and what batteries do you use on it since i am gonna be ordering a 700e tonight and i need to know what batteries to get with my 700e.
@hpibajajumper Hello, the canopy is from "Sick Canopy". You can find their sales website on the runryder forums. The batteries I use in the 700E are Thunder Power 45C 5000mAh (x2) and Volts 45C 5100mAh (x2). Cheers

How was the build quality of this kit compared to the align or mikado? I am currently deciding between a logo 400 se and protos stretched
evanhunterblbier 3 weeks ago
@evanhunterblbier Hi, it is better than Align but inferior to Mikado. You would be happy with both however. They both fly incredibly well. Cheers

Low fbl main hub will look better. That big hole in high hub is ugly. The rest is OK , like mine :)

You MUST study mechanical or electrical engineering, if you haven't already graduated. This is awesome.

@DeltaUnifomDeltaEcho Thanks man - I did study Marine Engineering which encompasses mechanical and electrical engineering subjects. Cheers

My only concerns after having ordered at the moment are:
- Blades from the stretched kit suitable for FBL?
- Servo horns lol, I didn't order any, are they included with the kit or MKS servos?
- Some other stuff I might have overlooked.

what did you use to move your tripod for the time lapse??
Himhoe 3 months ago
@Himhoe I used a home made dolly :)
cruddbucket 3 months ago
@cruddbucket right, but did you have a controller of some sort to move the dolly back and forth?
Himhoe 3 months ago
@Himhoe Yes I used an Arduino micro controller and wrote a program to control the stepper motor. cheers

Think this will be my first proper heli early next year. Pretty much the same setup too. Need to crash the mCP X some more first.
kjoer 4 months ago
@kjoer Cool man, it is extremely nice. I would say it is like the "Mikado" of 450 size helicopters. Good efficiency and power to weight
