Get there if you can - we sail there there each year with the Tallship Soren Larsen and its fascinating. The Iririki is as nice as its shown here - BUT do get out the real untouched Vanuatu, the outer islands as well. Ambrym, Makakula, Banks Islands or Tanna. Great people...
I did not remember S L from my time in Vanuatu. I just had a quick google search and saw it on the website. Curiosity got the better of me .... any mention of tallships or other antique sailing boats has me thinking back to the Alvei from a few months back.
Sometimes when you see the Pacific Sun or other mega cruise ships in port, it is easy to forget the maritime heritage of the sailing ships from a previous era.
The hardships and privations and the dangers and duration of travel. Not to mention the vaguaries of weather ... a la Elvie that you mentioned.
Cannot help but be utterly impressed by the the tallships such as Soren Larsen and others.
And the Coongoola and the Elvie et al the others. So glad they are still around for us all to enjoy.
can anyone recommend some land for sale in vanuatu, i trust my judgement and would guess that kareemp is saying that in the hope that people will not keep coming to his slice of paradice.... nice try but i think i'll take my chances lol lol. please let me know if any of you have anything for sale, land, condo house etc
OMG ... if you set just half of your big toe on Vanuatu soil, then you will be totally bombarded by people who will try to sell you real estate there.
Be careful though ... you will only ever get to buy a leasehold, NEVER will you get a freehold sale. Its not allowed. So many crooks (from USA /AUST / NZ) that you must be wary of.
AND, the local NiVans dont really like to see their paradise spoiled and sold out from them. Dont blame them for that.
also, the resort featured in this promo has had stuff for sale for a while.
but pricey i think. lots of realtors in Vila and on the internet too.
pesonally, i completely LOVE vanuatu. magnificent place. and the locals are truly the nicest people ever.
I envy you being able to invest or live there. If you have been there already, then you will know, but if you have not been yet, then you are in for a big treat when you finally get there. well done to you.
its beautiful....but its also dangerous....my friend lives there with his dad....and he loves it becoz he is an adventerous guy but he has had witch doctors prey on him and people come running at him with spears and both him and his dad have had malaria multiple times but praise God he saved them from all of that.....but yea its very dangerous
I'm going to move to Vanuatu one day, i love New Zealand but in some areas it's pretty racist, i feel sorry for the Maori's when the government fucks them around, i just want to know how i can get to Vanuatu from New Zealand, how i can get a job there, and a roof over my head, I'm Tongan, so I'll blend in with y'all natives. i just wanna get out of this country, if any of you guys can help reply please.

Land diving, 'naghol', is a custom that is done to ensure good food crops and as a rite of passage. It is in a different upload of mine.

This is mainly filmed in and around Port Vila, the capital city of Vanuatu.
Port Vila is on the island Efate, and Efate is the main island of Vanuatu.

Thank God that all ended well - eventually.

So its best to actually go there to buy.

I am shocked at you ... V is the best place in the world to live. Not perfect, but close to it. So, where were you before?
Where would you rather be instead of V ?
I really want to know.
If you want to leave, then I want to take your place there. I was there 12 months and loved every minute

why kill yourself,if there is others who can do the job for you:-)

Well, Arkadas, just think about Turkey was a main power in Europe( at least in the Balkans and Central) for a few centuries.
Plus, why the current Turkey is extremely sensetive when it comes to the Armenians in the WW1?

Nice place, lovely people, but spoiled by its proximity to Australia and New Zealand who seem to think they own and run the whole country.
More power to the local NiVans.
Much MUCH more power to them, so they can reclaim the paradise they have lost.
