But the credit themes in most Mario games are well composed, and nice to listen to, like this one, who agree's? Every time I listen to it, I get flashbacks from all of the Mario games, NES to Wii, how good they were, and from playing this game, but thats just me.
@pokem0nfan134 I think it's because after you get all 120 Stars, you can do a second playthrough as Luigi, and he needs a Luma to teach him the spin attack.
I always watch credits and try to catch as many names as I can. They also tend to play some of the best music during end-credits. It really surprises me that so many people seem to scramble for the exit the moment a movie ends. What's the rush? Maybe we can give them the benefit of the doubt and say they REALLY needed to use the restroom.
Wow...never thought I could enjoy the credits so much...
You mentioned something about a new compression/uploading technique or somethin' in your description...besides a few choppy parts for a few milliseconds here and there, a strange green line at the bottom for a second in the middle, and an occasional random line, I would say this video has nice quality, even in full screen. Mind givin' us a hint?
Those comments are somewhat outdated now, but I'll tell you what was up, and what you can do now.
The green line/choppy parts were because my hard drive was fragmented, and the capture device would "skip" sometimes. I've been a little more careful with defragmenting since.
The new compression/uploading technique was some workaround YouTube's reencoding of video uploaded that does not work anymore. Basically, if certain rules were met, you can upload a ".flv" with a pretty nice bitrate.
Now, what you can do is try to upload as high a quality video as possible without "excess baggage". YouTube's high quality videos are roughly 1000 kb/s bitrate on average and around 480x360 in resolution.
So, what I do is upload a video with a resolution of 640x480 and an average bitrate of 1000 or so kb/s.
That usually yields nice results (my newer videos).
Also, these credits were mostly on black, that utilises very little bitrate.
Consequently, it'll look nicer since it needs less bitrate to look pretty. That's why a lot of anime looks nice at lower bitrates (due to a lot of low framerate/motion, and videoblogs (due to lack of scenery change).
High motion and fast color change is hardest to make look nice, but the best you can do is push it to the limit that YouTube will accept.
I did start out reading the credits, but found myself eventually getting lost in the pictures and pretty music...still, a wonderful game, and a fantastic job by everyone involved.
These credits were okay, but what was really neat were the "Super Mario 64" credits. They would have fly-by camera views of the different levels, and they hid Mario somewhere in each one!
(You can control the direction of the camera with the second controller)
This is yet again another opportunity to say just how awesome this game's music is. I mean seriously, as far as a Mario game goes, this is really high up there.
I always read credits, even movie ones. I like the end of the game ones when they start talking about North American Localization, because then I start recognizing some of the names.
The part of credits I always read are the Cast/Voice Actors. You'd think it would be so I could recognize the people behind them, but half the reason is so I can see for certain what some of the characters are named, and how they are spelled.
All are Japanese names anyway, I wouldn't be able to appreciate them if I can't even read or say some of those names! And Mario's voice is the most annoying thing evah!
I know what you mean... When I watch anime, I have trouble remembering peoples' names because they are so unfamiliar. I tend to give them nicknames, like: Glasses, Bow-guy, Spike-head, Sad eyes, and so on.
Like I said, it's a rare person that does. A lot of people will watch the credits in games though, to make sure it saves or unlocks some kind of extra.
How long is this game?

They should make a really dark and serious Mario game some day, just for the hell of it. It'd be interesting wouldn't it? No?...Eh whatever..
Anyway, can't wait to play Part 2

Sounds like a good idea, but at the same idea, I can't really imagine a serious Mario game.

I wonder what the credits will be like in SMG2
ESHIGGINS123 2 years ago
I think they'll probably have names and titles rolling up the screen accompanied by an upbeat tune that eventually quiets down into a serene melody.
WhiteKhakis 2 years ago
No, I mean like, I wonder what the music will be like. I hope it will be a true masterpiece like this
ESHIGGINS123 2 years ago
Yeah, I got you. Chances are they'll stick with the symphonic motif they've got going in this first one.
WhiteKhakis 2 years ago
One question, why did they leave one luma behind?
pokem0nfan134 2 years ago
Maybe it lives there? (Was that the one that follows you around and grants you the spin attack?)

Yes it was the luma
