For anyone interested, I'd like to trade my '72 Monte (in good shape) for a restorable '69 or '67 Chevelle. You can see my car on YouTube by searching "vinyl top 1972 monte" and it will be the first result on top. My car runs great, no major dents or damage, has the original paint job, around 114K original miles, stored every winter since the early 90's. I live in Ohio. I love my car, but I've wanted a '69 Chevelle since I was 14 or 15 years old!.

definately cried during this i rescued a nova only to have it totaled 3 weeks after i finished it by a texting driver and she had no insurance so i got fucked if you see a car like this please restore it. These are part of our history and are dear to so many people.

I know of a junk yard that was loaded with a bunch of various muscle cars. Of course they all had titles saying they were junked. Non had engines of course and most had been used as parts cars (mostly dodges with scavenged drive trains), but all had straight frames. Non had been wrecked.
@cajunMojo222, I can back up my info completely. Take a 69 Dodge charger and slap a wing and pointed nose on it. That is now a Charger Daytona. Do the same with a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. It's now a Superbird. You can tell the difference between the 2 and you can certainly tell the difference between a 69 RR and a 70 RR. P.S, their was no 1969 Superbird. only 70.
I want to restore one of those chargers!!! but i live in Colombia Right Now... and actually i have a 71 Dart Demon and a 81 RS Camaro!!!... I want a cool mopar project like one of this abandoned chargers... here in this country are only 1 or 2 restored chargers... and found 1 of these cars it´s too hard! ;(

Where is that old spirit gone why do we buy imports instead of these beauties. I know that the american car industry has gone to crap but in the 60's and early70's we really knew how to make a car. Back then "made in America meant something here, now its all 40MPG priuses and shit Why? Buy these instead!

I just rescued a 74 nova hatchback ss a few weeks ago. Was going to be restored , but around 1990, the owner died and ht wife held on to it all those years, meaning to do something with it someday, but alas, 20 years of sitting in the yard took it's toll. But it's alright, she's safe with me now.

Did you hear about Obama's "Cash For Clunkers" program? The one that failed? I can't tell you how many times I seen old muscle come in to the pick-and-pull yard with only barn dust on them. There needs to be a way to search out the near-death muscle car and get it rescued. One problem I have encountered is the salvage yard owner does not care about the remains, more about the money. Other times people have them in their back yard and just do not care. The motor vehicle department in California won't help you find them through pc search and they have the info at their keyboard.

As many classics should be held onto as possible. Too many getting wrecked by TV and movies that no-one will care about 3 yrs later. When they're gone they're gone. There will be a time when someone won't drive their base-model when even those become rare enough.
people need to let go of there cars that have been siting over 5 years, let someone else fix them up, instead of letting them rot away, i realize they might be a rare car but someone else can have more fun with it, then just letting them sit around, i know of one guy that traded a 1970 chevelle ss for something it was not another car i know that and the '70 chevelle was running and wasn't rusted out, car was perfect but the guy went a scraped it. some people don't have any respect for old cars

I rescued my 1303 beetle from being crushed and restored him since I was 15.
Now I´m 19 and this car brings me from A to B, trips with friends, my girlfriend, etc. There're so many memories with this car.
It was a lot of time and money to spent, but now I appreciate to own an old car, a good working machine and reliable friend.
It would be nice that young people restore old cars instead of buying new cars.
Would it be nice?

Cars and trucks hold a special place in alotta peoples hearts, it signafied freedom,responsability picking up your buddies for the night and first unsupervised dates,not to mention simpler times before the world came at ya on a daily basis. Restore them or sell them to somebody who will.Todays cars are losing their idenity and style, cant hardly tel a chev from a toyota.

They were built to be tough as nails and fast as balls. How anyone could just let them rot and waste away like that baffles me.

I just rescued a 74 nova hatchback ss a few weeks ago. Was going to be restored , but around 1990, the owner died and ht wife held on to it all those years, meaning to do something with it someday, but alas, 20 years of sitting in the yard took it's toll. But it's alright, she's safe with me now.

I just don't understand what this world has come to. I bet you in about twenty to thirty years there will be no such things as muscle cars anymore. Did you hear about Obama's "Cash For Clunkers" program? The one that failed? I can't tell you how many times I seen old muscle come in to the pick-and-pull yard with only barn dust on them. Not a dent anywhere. ...and just left to rot in the junkyard, and pulled apart by idiots who use the part for a dumb race-car project that they blow the engine up on soon after. Then the whole car is wasted. If a car is complete with all parts, even if it does not run. keep car intact!

There needs to be a way to search out the near-death muscle car and get it rescued. One problem I have encountered is the salvage yard owner does not care about the remains, more about the money. Other times people have them in their back yard and just do not care. The motor vehicle department in California won't help you find them through pc search and they have the info at their keyboard.

people need to let go of there cars that have been siting over 5 years, let someone else fix them up, instead of letting them rot away, i realize they might be a rare car but someone else can have more fun with it, then just letting them sit around, i know of one guy that traded a 1970 chevelle ss for something it was not another car i know that and the '70 chevelle was running and wasn't rusted out, car was perfect but the guy went a scraped it. some people don't have any respect for old cars
