if you're a Houston Rockets fan, next season would be the one to watch. The past couple of seasons was coached by Jeff Van Gundy and I think he didn't utilize Yao that great, he also refused to allow anyone to help train Yao that wasn't part of his coaching staff. This summer Yao has trained with Hakeem and former GM Dawson who also helped train Hakeem. They focused more on committing less turnovers and attacking the basket. Something JVG didnt do with Yao.
This kid is ONLY 19 years old...and he's 7 ft, crossin people over and hittin fade away jumpers. I don't know if he'll develop into a Dirk, but he'll probably be like a Kukoc but better. At 7 ft, he'll probably have better defense. 3-5 years and he'll be an all star.

I hope Yi Jianlian goes to the Bulls with their 9th pick. Doubtful though, I hear Danny Ainge may pick him up with the 5th pick. The guy is amazing. Phenomenal footwork, amazing speed, and tremendous scorer in the paint. Maybe second to Durant as NBA ready.

Yeah... I think this dude will have a good Rookie season... Really seems like a solid forward. Will hopefully develop a jumper, eventually... And I'm glad we see a lot more of him than of Tskitishvilli back in a day... All that was shown of him were free throw shooting and a couple of open dunks... Pretty pathetic.

sidman...wow, you got to be kidding me. he is deffinately good enough to be a top 5 pick. andevery player in the nba cant shoot a 3...some guys like yao and shaq can not shoot a 3..they were never taught how to because their skill on the inside is just dominance and they are just to big and slow to have a good release from that type of range.

alright this Yi guy has the potential to be a little like manu ginobili. he may not have the quikness, but he can shoot, and thats all the really matters in basketball. if u cant shoot you shouldnt be in the nba. trust me. every nba player can shoot a 3. but this guy Yi isnt that great to be a first round pick. maybe late 1st round, but more than likely 2nd.
