can this bring a virus to your computer if you download it because i downloaded this and my computer doesnt work the same i downloaded this and some other doctorspywear thing what should i do
I am assuming you are running the windows version. Whats the hardware specs ? You might want to find a distro of linux and give it a shot on that. ( I suggest 64Studio ) download the linux version of this software ( it should install "out of the box" ) I have played with audio and video programs on both OS's for a while now and so far I am liking what I see in Linux .. I have thrown a lot of stuff at it and cant seem to get it to bog down. (thats my 2 cents worth ... )
Unless you are talking to missexxylatina to not to run the linux version ( or convert to .. ) then by all means run on an OS that you feel comfortable with - I ran both versions and I prefer the linux version vs the windows ( my own preference - just giving a choice. ) both versions are spyware free.
agh, so to stream a 'real' live mix, I'd have to run something like a pacemaker (or obviously a mixer) into it :( unless it would be possible to use a 2 channel USB soundcard?
it is possible if you split up the left and right of stereo as separate outputs. You would just be running mono out, and only be able to hear sound in one ear on your headphones.
Here is something super wicked that we are working on right now. Connect with on board wifi to the net then launch the application then connect to Icecast2 server and now you are beatmixing your show live over the net for your friends to listen to from their computers. Sick! Its like a mini Ibiza in a box, but 4 U!!!
Not convinced that this is a very good platform to run mixxx on. You're better using a midi controller

Don't try to convince him to run Linux :D. There isn't ANY danger in that software. I've tested it my self on Windows and Linux

Is it possible to run this distro on VMware on winxp?
And a few q's for indamixxPC:
- Is it possible to connect an external USB2.0 HD? And if so, could it be done via a hub with multiple USB appliances?
- Are there multiple outs present (to cue a song for instance).
- Does the screen support multitouch?
This thing rocks, you ppl are going the right direction ;)

you need a 4 channel sound card.. 2 for house 2 for headphones.

mavsman4457 3 years ago
kinda, it's better to use a usb controller or vinyl control (turntable)
indamixxPC 3 years ago
right, but it's POSSIBLE to scribble just using the program and nothing else? i'm not a real dj i just want to experiment
mavsman4457 3 years ago
