Deep river has probably the best sturgeon fishing towards the mouth. Cathlamet has a few good holes i know of. I dont know much about up ricer except by bonneville where the monsters are.

my step dad and his dad caught a 12 foot one of those they had to put steel cable on a tree and used a massive hook like almost 2 feet long and they put a whole chicken on there and left it over night and in the morning there was a 12 foot sturgeon on the hook and it was still fighting and the only way they could get it was when her stuck his head out of the water the shot him in the head to get him to stop. that may be cruel but like they just put him out of his misery.
