I'm a Filipino living in Malaysia and I'm proud to have her as my "kababayan". Her English is rather great to think that she got used to speaking Tagalog. No one can really perfect speaking English in such a short time. To the haters: Just admit it. They can speak English, Tagalog, and their own native language...but of course, only the educated ones can speak all three fluently. Mastering one language is hard enough, then how about two more?

And Cebuano is really a different language because it has a different syntax. And it is really, really different. I'm a Filipino living in Malaysia and I'm proud to have her as my "kababayan". Her English is rather great to think that she got used to speaking Tagalog. No one can really perfect speaking English in such a short time. To the haters: Just admit it. @zatoinga Uhmm, just FYI...there is no such thing as Cabuno...maybe you are referring to Cebuano? And yes, that is a different language, it is not a dialect...for Cebuano and Tagalog (not "Tagalong") have different syntax and grammar. Secondly...yes, an average Filipino is a trilingual. They can speak English, Tagalog, and their own native language...but of course, only the educated ones can speak all three fluently. Mastering one language is hard enough, then how about two more?

And Cebuano is really a different language because it has a different syntax. And it is really, really different. I mean, when a Cebuano (person) talks to someone from Manila, he will not understand him. The dialects of Tagalog are 'Tagalog-Laguna', 'Tagalog-Batangas', and the like...

one tends to adapt the accent/twang/slang from whomever he/she is most. if u're w/ Brits the most,then u get the british accent. if around americans most,then u'l eventually copy theirs. now if we get 2 b around neither but in d Phils (like myself) then we get that unique filipino-english blend.

@carlmichaelmorales if you would dig on old comments, that line, "her english is sucks", (notice the quotation marks) was originally made by @sweetdaisy03 criticizing charice's "english". couldn't fight the urge to throw back the criticism at her, thus, the annotation u picked above. i have to admit, i write english better than i speak it. i can very easily pick a wrong grammar in a movie when i hear one ("ain't doin' nothing, man"), more so when it's written...
