@centralningastudios7 Thank you for your comments. I was actually in Otatara in 2008 AND 2009, because in 1983 I fell in love with an Otatara girl when I was in Wanaka. Sadly it never worked out but I always wanted to go try and find her again but I got cold feet and anyway, she is probably happily married with a family and it would not have been fair should I have turned up out of the blue 27 years later !!

@Sorce473 Well my friend, I am going back to New Zealand again at the end of October this year, 2010 for what may well be the last time for a while. Going to be in the South Island for the best part of a fortnight and you better believe I will be going back to Invercargill armed with my camera. It's a country that I NEVER ever get tired of being in, no matter how long it takes to get there from Scotland!! Thanks for looking in.
@sportisnotnews I may have said it several times, but I totaly agree with you. NZ is probably the most beautiful country I have ever been fortunate to visit. To be going back again in late October this year, 2010, is something I am REALLY looking forward to because it might be my last trip there for some time.
@Sorce473 Stuck in Montana? lol I am from Montana, and also lived in Invercargill for a short time in 1980. I think the two are very comparable, Rotorua/Yellowstone, Fjordland/Glacier. Great fishing! Deer, oh lots of deer. I've not been back to NZ since then but some day.
It's about 130 miles, or just over 200kms. I have driven the road twice in each direction (2008 and 2009) and I am going back for more in November of this year, 2010

It is that Ralph!! Invercargill is a friendly little town. Very clean and tidy. Everywhere I went in New Zealand I was always treated well. The people in this beautiful country make it so worthwhile to travel half way round the world for another visit as I am in October of this year, 2009.

I was there in October 2009 for the Tour of Southland and had a great time!!!
Nice and relaxed people, wonderful area, fantastic country to live in!!! Hope to be back again for the ToS 2010.
