A lot of people found the looks or the walk of the Centaur as being frightening, but I was always intimidated by his yell. Even when I first saw this movie, however, I knew he would defeat the Griffin. The movie is intended to glorify Sinbad as much as possible, and one way to do this was to have him kill the creature who made the audience angry and sad by killing the Griffin. Sort of like wrestling, the Griffin was the jobber to the Centaur, and Sinbad becomes the big hero by beating the heel.

You can tell that there was some kind of editing error. We go from having four good guys facing the centaur, to then only three, while you can see the legs of the fourth guy already laying on the ground (the bald one). What the hell happened to him? lol

This scene always annoyed me as to why sinbad never helped out the griffin? i mean after all was not the griffin their to protect them? as the centur was slowly strangling the griffin instead of them just standing their watching the poor creature get brutally murdered sinbad could have easily ran up behind the centur and slashed out the centurs back legs so the rest of his men could have ganged up on it to finish its ugly disgusting existence off but thank god it died screaming in agony =)
