@TheFIRSTFatJohn i know!! ;) those last few seconds are the prettiest, with the harp, strings, etc. it always made me think of waking up to a beautiful snow-covered ground.
@capricorn4003. Exactly my point. This is a very beautiful song from start to finish originally, so that's why I said what I said and I thank you for your comment.
this song was from the late 60s, its amazing how time flies. they dont make them like they used to. you tube is great for collecting all types of things in the past and present-love you tube. someone commented you tube is like a time capsule-absolutely
I absolutely love classic rock. I see more talent in the previous generations of music than the generation of today. And besides i dont see how rap is music. it's more like poetry. poetry with the f-bomb dropped every other word. Thats one thing i love about the older stuff, they dont need to drop an f-bomb every other word just because they can. And dont pull the underground card because mainstream is what defines the music industry. you never hear anything by the rappers mentioned here on...
@blackbelt352 the radio, because they arent mainstream. These bands from the classic days were mainstream. they defined the music industry at that time. Now it's justin beiber, rebecca black, usher, and other not great "artists" defining the music industry.
Music is universal and timeless. If it's done right, any time period or generation can appreciate it. I mean look at classical music. Loved and used to feel happy, mad and sad emotions in almost every movie made until this very day.
loveongoldenwings.....I am really glad you like it! You may be 15 years old, but you have very good taste. I think it's great you like music that is beautiful and thoughtful. Don't pay attention to the naysayers. You have a right to your opinion as much as anyone.
Why do people feel they need to use so much profanity to get their point across? You can still say what you need to say without it. Believe me I use it a lot myself but Youtube doesnt need THAT much...just saying.
The music and writing are accentuated by the recording and production standards. It sounds light years better than most anything made at the time that I have heard, get "Days of Future Past" on Mobile Fidelity never look back.
@LoveOnGoldenWings fuck sake i dont give a fuck how old you are put it this one way absoloutly no one cares about you... only your family and friends care about you stop loooking for fucking approvel on youtube fuck me?!

I just got home a little while ago from seeing the Moody Blues LIVE at the St Michele Winery in Woodinville...They were AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!! Started out with ''Gypsy''and finished with ''Ride my See-Saw''......One of the best concerts I have EVER attended............Great Band !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song is Beauty. Just straight up, flat out, dead on Beauty. It's beautiful in music and lyrics, but it just stands for Beauty. Damn, those Moodies were HOT!
I listened to this while eating a egg sandwich. I looked to the egg and wondered if there was another universe living on that egg. I guess will never know, because i ate it and will later on poop it out.
@atruepie i believe these are sample pictures that came with windows. my guess is it's from an ME edition. I have one of those and it has all these pictures on it
The thing that amazes me to this day is that this song, this ALBUM (Days of Future Passed) was released (originally) in 1967! Talk about being ahead of your time. It took the rest of the music industry (and the sensibilities of the general public) another FIVE YEARS to realize what a work of genius this was. I agree... a VERY underrated group indeed. Amazing music by a brilliant group of musicians.
The Moodys are underappreciated indeed...making the right songs at the right time also....ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ATLANTIC!!!! ....(this is from a rapper)
i love this song! its good to know that some people in the world still listen to good music! i always sing this during school and people ask me "what are you singing?" and i tell them you wouldnt know the song its actually good.
@JamesA7X8 Sadly not, all the great generations have passed haven't they, I mean, some music today is Okay for me but nothing beats the sounds you hear from the 60's to the 80's ish
if only there was music like this today. all i ever here about now is people who think they can sing and think the have talent. their music can't compare to what it was like in the 60's and 70's.
back when you may have to been talented to record.lovely to hear again.when its cloudy and cool,i hear this song in my mind.it doesnt get better than this!
This song remind me of artist and bohemians who lived during victorian age and also this song reminds me of old pictures that i see on my grandparents wall. This son g is epic because it reminds me of nudity, freedom, love, and all the good things in life.It also reminds of william blake and getting high.
Heavens to Murgatrtoid! I greatly enjoyed watching your beautiful montage of photos while I listened to this song; one of my favorite tunes from the 60's. An absolutely delightful experience....MANY thanks for posting it! You've MADE my day & my week!
1967, I remembering hearing the LP Days Of Futures Past. My older brother played this LP almost every day, especialy when we would get ready to go to school.
@Appollyion I understand my grandfather just passed away and i am going to play this for him at his service which happened to fall on a tuesday afternoon was one of his fave songs i know he will appreciate it
The original days of huffing, they made a room spray called Pertussin. It was the ultimate, & not as greasy as Pam. But the last time I huffed, my black bean bag chair turned into a huge black spider! I knew then that I had to quit! Also, because the high didn't last long. They took it off the market! My friends used to grow Panama Red every year, & the last year I tried it, the same thing. It was really scary, & I smoked some good pot, but some devil weed in Florida made me walk into the walls!
You should listen to "A day in the life" by the Beatles while the world ends. It's More appropriate and this song was heavily influenced by it. In fact the whole "Days of future passed" concept album was based on the idea of the song A day in the life. As for what you should be high on, Lsd would be optimum, then just as the world was ending you could inject a speedball which is cocaine and heroin while you were tripping. That would be the ultimate.
I love the song A Day in the Life. I'm a huge Beatles fan. But doing a speedball is downright scary, I've seen people do it, and that's what killed John Belushi. Those two drugs should never be done together. Unfortunately, the LSD I took, I never had good hallucinations! Just a lot of Indian signs on my hands, and the walls dripping. Mescaline was the fun drug! All you could do was laugh your ass off for no reason at all for about 12 hours. And hallucinate, of course.
@DaveS12382 Years ago, when I was young I used to argue the toss about Conceptual albums. Beatles, Kinks, Small Faces, Moody Blues. Now it doesn't matter. It's music and we should be grateful we lived in this era, Thanks to you alremeber S. F. Sorrow is born!
U2 is close to many, many generations....they are my favorite! But so is Eric Burden and the Animals...check them out....House of the Rising Sun & When I was Young....
This my generation and it was the best time of my life. When you could love and be loved and the worse thing that could happen to you was VD now it's death.
Things have realy changed. Things were so simple.
you're right on target, " SO GENTLY SWAYING THROUGH THE FAIRY LAND OF LOVE" and similar lyrics definitely project anger, and a "hardcore attitude." I think maybe you've taken way too much acid dude. Either that or you're 14yrs old, only excuses for your ridiculus statements.
Are you joking?I f you think this is hardcore and depicts anger, I wonder what would happen if you listened to a litle Alice In Chains. Like for example the songs Angry chair, Grind, and What the Hell Have I come to mind. My god, you might just have a heart attack or something because their music is about as hardcore and real as it gets. This is melodic nice psychedelic soft baroque type rock music ala Strawberry fields, Penny Lane, Early Floyd, but even stuff off Piper rocks more than this.
Sitting around on a bed of pillows.....dropping LSD and watching the flowers dance with the mail on the diningroom table. This on the hi-fi.....welcome to 1968.
this song and a few others like Procol Harem's Whiter Shade of Pale are landmarks in music history... Thank you for putting this on M1K for every one to enjoy

This my generation and it was the best time of my life. When you could love and be loved and the worse thing that could happen to you was VD now it's death.
Things have realy changed. Things were so simple.

with music like this, i can lock the doors and stay inside. sit down in front of a window, feel the brainwaves flow thru the walls.

you're right on target, " SO GENTLY SWAYING THROUGH THE FAIRY LAND OF LOVE" and similar lyrics definitely project anger, and a "hardcore attitude." I think maybe you've taken way too much acid dude.
