  • Fuck you Oklahoma, I loved the Sonics although I am a Magic fan. Bring the Sonics back.

  • I always liked the sonics better with Gary payton and Shawn kemp and then there was rashard lewis and ray allen, two great generations of sonics, then for some reason they had to move it to Okc thats just dumb man.

  • How 'bout that? A few Lakers fans here, but they MISS the Sonics?! I was born and raised in Seattle, but, I'm a Lakers fan and I DON'T miss the Sonics!

  • seattle shouldnt have gone. nba made a mistake, im a laker but i liked this team

  • Man i miss the sonics....bring em back.

  • @ShakeZula1435 Seattle is not one of the top cities in the world, dumb ass. Its the 21st century, where anyone can find out anything about anyplace just by typing it in a computer. No, Seattle doesn't have the best fans, not even close. Go to Pittsburgh, Chicago, or Boston.

  • @sourkraut92 Your an idiot. The NBA is a business, not some sort of fun little game like some people think it is. If you don't go to games, then the Franchise will fail. Owners barely make money in the short run. I loved the Sonics, but understood when the owners chose to move from Seattle. Attendance is key not for just basketball, but for every other sport. As the Cleveland Brown fans when their team moved to Baltimore. Business is business, however hard it may be for you to understand this.

  • @mtime6 nba franchises generate revenue through other means besides ticket sales. I personally find it fucked up how the NBA increases player wages. forcing every team to build a state of the art arena to cope with the rising cost of its players. Though the NBA does nothing whatsoever to contribute in making the arena. All Stern did was ask for a quarter of a billion dollars from the state. The NBA business model is broken. that much is clear.

  • @adamforest The only way to improve a team is for the team to make more money. The owners left Seattle(even after waiting two years to see if the market in Seattle would recover) Because Fans would not go to games. As I said, I am a bulls fan, and when the Bulls sucked after MJ left, attendance never faltered. Its not just basketball, its every other sport in Seattle that is struggling as well. I am sorry, but the facts remain, if you don't go to games, the franchises will fail.

  • As a Browns fan I really feel for the fans in Seattle....Hopefully the green and gold will be back soon

  • SEATTLE SUPERSONICS

  • @sourkraut92 Are you retarded? If a team doesn't get a good attendance number than it becomes basically impossible to financially manage the organization. Just look at the Sacramento Kings. Sorry, but your comment was so stupid that it shows you know nothing about how the real world works. If Everyone in Seattle Supported the Sonics, than they would have never moved.

  • AND Gary Payton Charles Barkley and other greats have even said those were the best fans in the nba so dont even try to blame the city or fans for why the team is gone you obviously know nothing Bennet is the man to blame so u can go join him at his house and both of you can go fuck yourself

  • If u dont even live over here dont say shit Seattle is one of the top citys in the world for their fans who love sports. If u want fact s then the facts are this city and state loved this team and was one of the best crowds in then nba, just like the seahawks have the best crowd in the nfl so go eat a dick at least we never booed our team and threw stuff at them when they were losing ahem lakers...

  • Average attendance for the Seattle Super Sonics from 2001 season to end of 2007 season 15,786.4286( data taken from ESPN) This is pathetic considering that Seattle is about the same size in population as Boston. If the People of Seattle want a team, they need to support, which they did not do, which is why the new owners left. Remember people, it is a business. In my hometown(Chicago) Even when the bulls sucked, the United Center still sold out.

  • @mtime6 ur fuckin stupid. Just cause u dont go to the games doesnt mean u dont support em. Everyone is seattle supported the sonics.

  • @mtime6 What you're saying is that you paid money for a shitty product. If teams don't win, they should expect fans to stop buying tickets. You want to make money, then field a real team that wins games and goes to the playoffs. You people who are so proud to just go to every game, win or lose, aren't doing your own team any favors. What incentive do the owners have to make a better team if you still keep dishing out your cash? As for the Sonics, you know nothing about what happened here.

  • I'm not from Seattle or a Sonics fan but I miss them. The uniforms were awesome and I remember the good rival my Rockets had against them in the 90's. That was a classic team. We need the Sonics back.

  • how did you get the picture of them taking apart the court

  • i think that sonics never back in nba, but maybe seattle for 4 or 5 years have another team with another name seattle dogs haha. but that team missed so much and colour of yersey yellow and green. okc thunder is now seatlle supersonics, i dont know how supersonics think that they can back in nba? they must have a new arena , and they must have a new kemp but name and coulours must stay

  • i think what should happen is the sonics should come back with the maroon and green logo with the space needle as the i have 6 teams in the northwest division draft players from college reinnovate key arena or build a new arena

  • if the nba can get the sonics back to seattle, then have david stern move the nets to newark, nyc already has a team, they dont need another

  • what i think they should do is draft a bunch of college players and bring the sonics back and they could play the thunder and every other team i dont care 2 me they will always be seattle supersonics go sonics

  • THE SONICS

Man people we have had a great team for a long time we have won. We have lost. But most of all we have loved. Not one single person can say they have not love the sonics if we complain whats the good we will never have a team as great as them. So i say we hold on to the memories of old and keep them knowing we had the seattle SUPERSONICS!

  • How much is howard shaultz worth?

  • the NBA should be sued for moving the sonics. they made Seattle tax payers fork over millions of dollars to renovate key arena in 96 and then moved us just over 10 years later.

  • do any of you guys realize that new jersey is getting robbed as well???

  • I'm a Celtics fan but I'm also a fan of the game. The Sonics were a great franchise and had a strong following. IT's unfair OKC gets to reap the benefits of Seattle's suffering over the years of bad seasons. Sure, it's the same core group of players but it's not the same.

Maybe get rid of one of California's 4 teams? Gee...maybe that'd work. Why in hell do they need 4 teams when the only one they care about is the Lakers?

@helloimtank Bro, the Knicks suck. Get over it. Mad?

  • lucky to have been to seen the sonics play in their 2007/08 season. i have trouble following the nba these days.

  • I've never lived in Seattle, but there has always been with me a fondness for the SeaHawks and the Sonics that I can't really explain. The NBA is just not the same without the Sonics

  • Pisses me off to see OKC reap the benefits of the sonics suffering through the later years. But you will never have Kemp, Payton, and Detlef!

  • fuuck the thunder

  • fuck the thunder

  • Seattle isn't the same without em :(

  • i recognize this song. does anyone know who it is, or which movie its from ?

  • Comment removed

  • the sonics are seattle's team not OKC! ill never be a OKC fan i am a sonic for life

  • This is really sad, but why hate the Thunder? I mean if my home team moved away (Utah Jazz), I'd still support them!

  • @fsdgrgddigijbndgfd No you wouldnt! I guarantee you! If Clay Bennett bought the Utah Jazz and promised to keep them there and then a year later moved? You wouldnt like them! Youd hate them. Youd hate who they are. You people dont get what we went through. You will soon...

  • @crazyasianfluffycat I did some more research on what exactly happened to the supersonics, I didn't know everything while I wrote that comment. In the situation you guys faced, your right, I would hate the Jazz too. out of curiosity though, who do you cheer for now?

  • But don't get angry at OKC they're just fans supporting their team. GET MAD AT CLAY BENNETT, THE WASHINGTON LEGISLATURE, HOWARD SCHULTZ AND DAVID STERN fuck all those assholes

  • Wizards and Golden State too. GO MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES!!!!!! KICK OKC'S ASS IN THE SEMI FINALS!!!!!

  • A. MrRaccoonBear, you're right. Seattle suffered for the success that fat Clay Bennett and his faggot team are enjoying.

    B. I can think of a million teams that should've been moved instead. Bucks, Pacers, Grizzlies, Hornets, Timberwolves, Raptors, Clippers, Kings, Knicks, Nets, FUCKING ANYONE BUT SEATTLE. Couldn't David Stern see that the Sonics were REBUILDING TO MAKE A RUN IN THE PLAYOFFS??? Which is what OKC is doing as we speak. FUCK CLAY BENNETT, HOWARD SCHULTZ and DAVID STERN!!!

  • @KPNeil888 i don't care about the other teams but watch your mouth about the knicks

  • @helloimtank lmao! watch your mouth about the knicks. ah I needed a good laugh!

  • @cackums hey they didn't do bad this year

  • I think The pacers or bucks are gonna be relocated here within the next 7 years.

  • they should have done what they did to charlotte when they moved the hornets.

  • seattle cries

  • dont worry Sonics fans the Hornets will take there place in Seattle. Im a CAVS and Browns fan. the browns left so i know how it feels.

  • @ttinsly23 you are completely retarded, OKC is hated by Seattle fans. Nice to see yet another moron who thinks that they are cool. OKC is a shithole compared to other places. Oh yeah, and people DO care. Goodbye !!

  • I'm from Boston and this one really hurts. Sends a fucking chill down your body. I feel for Seattle and SAC. Wow. Loss of words.

  • They should move the Kings to Seattle and not Anaheim! How stupid is it that they are going to have 3 teams in the LA area!!

  • @Moocow002 No they should keep them in Sacremento.

  • @tribefanjames Well just don't move them to Anaheim

  • BRING EM BACK

  • Wow I always felt bad for the Supersonics but never would I think the same would happen to me. As a true Kings fan I fill you guys too. Fuck David Stern and Fuck our dumbass owners!

  • @13ackings Sad to see what's happening to your Kings. The kings were that team back in the day. This coming from a lifetime Bulls fan. I hope you guys can maintain and keep the Kings there. David Stern needs to kick the bucket already. Even tho my team is pretty safe, after you guys and New Jersey...who the fuck is next?

  • @gotsteeze92 Let's just hope is not another classic team like the Sonics.

  • @HoustonRockets034 Definitely.

  • Good riddance!

  • Well that was depressing. Sonics need to come back I miss my i 5 rivalry. I hate Oklahoma now and I always loved the sonics except when they play Portland.

That being said, as a Blazer fan I respectfully question all of the Sonic fan base. You guys never fuckin came to the games at Key Arena. Sure it was a piece of shit but who cares eventually you got Kevin Durant! support the team damnit! someone in the community needed to be a leader and convince everyone to buy some damn tickets!

  • The Sacramento Kings are about to get hit too. We all witness history From the Super Sonics...

  • will forever be missed

  • R.I.P. SUPER SONICS

  • should all make videos sayin we want a team in seattle if ur with me like this and add me and send me a message u never know we could all bring a team back :)

  • im a kings fan, but i respect the sonics not the thunders.

  • who the fck disliked this!!

  • empty feeling not seeing them anymore dumb owner of okc tricked the guy who sold the sonics we sold them but the owner never knew the new owner was leaving Seattle screw you owner of okc your 5year contracts soon so u wait jerk

  • obama should bring back the soncis

  • I hear the Kings may relocate.

  • Wow makes me sad,

    and I'm a Lakers fan!!!

I hated the Sonics, but respect them as a franchise,

    NBA needs the Sonics back.

  • Although i'm a big Blazer fan, i'm really angry/sad that the Sonics moved. There was no point in moving the Sonics. Good-bye to the I-5 rivalry.

  • I have a pic of the logo for my facebook pic cause my name starts with s and good news the sonics may come back in 2012-2013 cause the bulls and nets will need new homes! Good luck seattle from a SA Spurs fan!

  • @Coasternator the Nets are moving to Brooklyn and the Bulls aren't leaving Chicago. The best chance the sonics have is New Orleans.

  • @kklol7 No The Bulls are look it up and New Orleans isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Sorry.

  • @Coasternator

I've tried looking it up and have found absolutely no indication that the Chicago Bulls are leaving Chicago.

  • @kklol7 It's all over other Sonic videos.

  • @Coasternator

The Nets are moving to Brooklyn, New York.

And the Bulls are staying, too much recent history to leave.

The Kings are the most likely to relocate, but to Anaheim, California.

  • Reminds me of when the Charlotte Hornets moved to New Orleans in 2002. It sucks.

  • @RIPsanity123 you are a piece of garbage i hate OKC's ownership and you know I dont really hold it against there fans except you, because you sir are a jackass

  • What happened to the city of Seattle and its illustrious basketball team is unthinkable

(especially to a french guy who just learned what "relocation" means and entail - just imagine Real Paris or Berlin United ...) .

Different way to organize sports I get it ; but when the guy running the show and his friend are in cahoots to strip a not-so-compliant city of its team thanks to the local billionaire (blame Stern but blame that Starbucks C**T as well ... )

The Sonics will return to Seattle !

  • HOW COULD THE NBA DO THIS! To take away a team from a city is horrible. I know if someone took the kings away from Sacramento I would cry. So best of luck Seattle you did not deserve this.

  • We (Seattle) suffered for what OKC is now getting, Seattle suffered through crap seasons so they could get those draft picks and now be a great team. No ill will towards OKC fans, you guys are just supporting your team.

  • @MrRaccoonBear Ya we went through shit to get good players and then they take them and take credit

  • I wouldn't count on having the Sonics back folks.

The thunder are already making the playoffs and could potentially have a finals title.

But I miss the Sonics anyways.

  • i wasnt a fan of seatle but ive rather have them than the okc thunder come on thunder thats a d league team name and nuthin but white folk there

  • Not sweatin it. We will have the Sonics back shortly folks! : ) Keep your head up.

  • yea ive been reading the same thing, since no one attends the hornets game and their owners cant find a stable local owner in oklahoma, hornets are gonna play somewhere elese in the 2011-2012 season, options are :

    -kansas

    -anahein CA

    -seattle

of course out of all those 3 seattle is the best one, the microsoft ceo has sold over like 2 billion in stocks and is savcing up to buy the hornets, and plus their gonna change the name back to sonics

there is hope my friends xD

  • that must've been hard emotionally to take the tiles out of the key. i just couldnt do that.

  • i man i feel so bad for people in seattle now seeing what the thunder have turned into

  • well, according to rumors Seattle might gain a team. the New orleans Hornets. look it up. the Hornets have a good team but can't meet their quota EVER. so they are most likely going to move them

  • The best team!!! Gary P the best player!!!!

  • David Stern wasnt the reason that the supersonics left. When the Sonics weren't doing great, their fans gave up and didn't go to any games. Thats why they were forced to change cities, they weren't making any money, it isnt because Stern is a "Dictator". Oh and the THUNDER are one of the top teams in the west...

  • 1:20

Nothing more needs to be said.

  • this video makes me tear up

  • could have at least moved to St. Louis, Las Vegas or Cincinatti....Damn, WHY OKLAHOMA CITY?????

  • @rattlesnakevideos09 Because it worked

  • @ottodude1 yeah,sure....But What'll happen if OKC gets bombed again?

  • @rattlesnakevideos09 dont think that will happen

  • @ottodude1 yea, I gotta get over this...

  • @rattlesnakevideos09 las vegas is shitty. theres a lot of homeless people out there and the unemployment rate there is high, in fact its the worst in the whole nation. once the tourism ends over there, they will be fucked for sure.

  • @boonyaope oh....Ok...Didn't know that

  • @rattlesnakevideos09 Or what about here in Texas? Austin doesn't have a team and all our three cities LOVE our basketball teams! We would of took good care of the sonics probaly would of kept the name too sounds better than thunder AUSTIN SUPER SONICS! But yes they should of stayed.

  • @Coasternator yeah! If two more texan cities had a b-ball team, there would be a Texan Division in the western conference...

  • Someones gotta buy the Bucks, move them to Seattle, move the Hornets to the East Central division, and move the Thunder to the Southwest division. It fits perfectly. Except Milwuakie won't be robbed of a team on the rise like Seattle was. The Bucks are going nowhere without some major change.

  • @franks155 Really? Have you not seen what the Bucks did this offseason? They have possibly the deepest roster in the league. No, they won't rise above the Lakers, Heat, or Boston, but I expect them to do amazing this season. They play unselfish basketball and have a great coach and GM. If anything, the Bucks are looking towards a bright future.

Fact is, teams relocating is bad for professional sports. Charlotte, New Orleans, OKC, and Memphis all represent the problems the NBA has

  • im a seattle sonics fan. but now that they are gone i go for the lakers, but if the sonics ever comeback ill go back to them fo sho

  • i hope we get our sonics back eventually

  • RIP SONICS

IM A CELTICS FAN I RESPECT GREEN. SEATTLE WAS ROBBED BY SELFISH PEOPLE ESPECIALLY THAT BACKSTABBING OWNER. BRING THE SONICS BACK IT JUST AINT RIGHT. THUNDER IS A STUPID NAME FOR A TEAM AND OKLAHOMA ISNT FOR PRO SPORTS. THIS IS JUST SAD.

  • Hi I´m a support from Spain. Is there any possibility to return to NBA? Why a 41 yrs historic franchise is out of competition? finally i think that Durant will be one of best in this sport, and watch him in Thunders make me very sad. Supersonicos Siempre!

  • By the way, what's the name of this song?

  • As much as I grew up hating them,

    I have a feeling they'll be back.

  • best vid ever

  • I live in Uruguay, South America. I grew up watching the Glove and Kemp killing everyone...we could be enjoying Kevin Durant. NBA SUCKS. This shit can only happen on david sterns freaking Nba. I MISS SONICS too and i am in Uruguay!!!

  • I remember playing as the sonics in video games, wearing their jerseys on halloween, now Seattle is probably just dark and depressing..

  • Does seattle fans ( were ) what teams do you follow now ? And I think it was wrong to move seattle supersonics to OKC and the teams badge and jerseys are so UGLY and dull.

  • @JoE I dont know about others... but my entire family were Sonics fans. Even my Mom, who seemed to hate sports; would watch every transition. For my dad and brother, it was one of our only ways of bonding. That being said, my heart remains with Seattle; and Im not ready, nor will I ever be ready, to follow any other team like I did my Sonics. Aint lookin for sympathy; just the way it is. To must of us, the NBA is a very ugly and corrupt organization; and we had 2 loose our team 2 realize it

  • @ghostmedic171 The NBA is about business and money rather than the game it's sad for any team to move , did you go to the final home game ?

  • i say get rid of the LA clippers and give seatlle their team back. LA shouldnt have 2 teams anyway. Coming from a kings fan i miss seeing seattle play.. FUCK DAVID STERN

  • @urbanl106

I agree. If I were a businessman from Seattle and owned them, I'd at least give Clippers fans notice and keep them in LA for one last season before taking them to Seattle and leaving the Clippers names, colors and history behind in exchange for those of the Sonics.

  • i miss the sonics an im a warriors fan

  • 0:20? In all seriousness, the sonics will be missed

  • this is 100 times worse than lebron leaving cleveland

  • @navigator772 Im a Cleveland fan but youre right. We also had our proudest franchise taken from us, then they came back as a joke

  • so seattle supersonics dont exist anymore? what happened to them

  • thank you sonics for great memories

  • im from Croatia and i loved Sonics , no disrespect but oklahoma thunder sound so unreal..

  • @bigpauler actualy it's used for many other reasons the college team and the wnba. how do i know? i live in seattle

  • That's fucked up what happened yo, I'm a laker fan but damn why they had to do that to the sonics? I was like "YO WTF WHY DOES KEVIN DURANT HAVE A DIFFERENT JERSEY ON?" come to find out they're in Oklahoma. Wow Seattle Supersonics had history and got fucked off by some inconsiderate mutherfucks

  • the court is stayiing there on wikipedia this is wat i read on it

KeyArena was home to the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics. On July 2, 2008, the Oklahoma City based ownership group of the SuperSonics reached a settlement deal with the City of Seattle, releasing the team from the last two years of their lease with the city and allowing the team to relocate to Oklahoma

also clay bennet could not find a fund to construct a new arena in key arena that why they moved to okc sucks man!! Sonics R.I.P.

  • What makes me sick is that the NBA Championship banner, along with the Retired jerseys, and the 1979 Championship trophy that once were housed in Key Arena are now in the possession of Clay Bennett and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Because in the settlement between Bennett and Mayor Nickels their was a clause that said Bennett would have a "shared history" with the Seattle Franchise. The fact is Oklahoma has some things that don't belong to it, thats why Seattle fans are so pissed!

  • Comment removed

  • @MrMusikman24

I completely understand that point of view. Please understand ours. The Sonics was a fantastic franchise. As fans of basketball, I think OKC feel obligated to honor the franchise's history. That's why there is a shared history.

If it make you feel better, I haven't seen your championship banner or retired jerseys hanging anywhere. Occasionally the TV broadcasters mention when an old Seattle era record is broken. And players can't wear retired numbers. That's about it.

  • Must be sad for the fans who followed this team for a long time

  • Think about this Seattle fans! Shawn Kemp has had 13 children from 11 different women. That's what happens in Oklahoma all the time. I think the Sonics will fit right in at Oklahoma City. If Shawn had that many kids he could start his own team in Seattle. Please discuss.

  • Fuck the Thunder!!

  • i have a question to sonics fans. do you root for the thunder since the big three were drafted by seattle( Kevin Durant, Westbrook and Jeff Green)? I feel bad for u sonics fans cus if the wizards moved from dc i wouldnt watch the nba no more.

  • @jb81512 no we are unable to root for OKCTY...even though im glad Durant, Westbrook, and Green are doing well there its far too painful to watch because its makes us wonder "what could have been?" I don't even watch the NBA anymore cause it makes me sick to my stomach. DAVID STERN FUCK YOU!

  • And even as a lifelong basketball guy, i don't want to do this to another city to get MY team back. Enjoy your run Portland fans. At least you have tested nba fan hearts. NW for life now.

  • Man we missin out. thunder in the playoffs now. i goin for them and blazers.

  • Great video! I was also a huge Sonics fan back then. I was in 6th grade for the

93-94 season and we all know how that came to an end. I got laughed at for about a week. Good times back then.

  • G.Payton is making to get Seattle Supersonics back in NBA , and he mentioned 2011-2012 season

  • Many fans cried lewis went to orlando allen went to boston

  • Guys dont worry about it they became thunder now but.... oh i see nvm SO LONG SEATTLE!!!!!!!

  • boycott the NBA

  • if they are all about money why did they move seattle is a better place to have a sports team then okc

  • @COUGFORLIFE100 Go watch Sonicsgate

  • The NBA is all about money and cares nothing about the game of basketball. The REAL cause of our departure is David Stern. In any other proffesional sports league, the Sonics would still be here. Stern is way too much of a dictator when it comes to the NBA; and when he holds a grudge against a person, team, or city (like he did with ours), he makes sure that they pay for it...And by the way, what kind of team is THUNDER? When you named the team THUNDER, you pissed over the sonics 41 year history

  • @RIPsanity123 Why did he hold a grudge against the super sonics

  • @RIPsanity123 They could of made the clippers the thunder and kept the sonics cause everyone in LA onley cares about the lakers

  • @RIPsanity123 its going to be the same thing with the nets and kings. the nets i know are moving back to brooklyn and the kings might move out of sacramento. plus the draft lottery is just a dumb thing that stern came up with. it should be worst record team getting first pick. with the lottery, anything is possible.

  • @RIPsanity123 because we like the name Thunder better.and i dont think anyone gives a rats ass what Seattle thinks about it.This is OKC's team now bitches BWAAAAHAHAHA!

  • so sad but brilliant vid :'( . 5/5 stars

  • thanks seattle we are playoff bound-thunder-thunder-thunder

  • 1:20

    That just broke my heart.

  • I'm not a die hard sonic fan, but I still love the energy and passion that they brought to the game. I used to love watching them play from time to time. Great times

  • Why the hell did they even take them to Oklahoma City? It doesn't have shit thay its recognized for. Atleast Seattle has the Space Needle.

  • Bought a tear to my eye.

  • i just found out this team is no longer around lol. i thought they were still there. man , i missed that ....

  • Seattle has the best fans we love the M's the seahawks sounders and the storm. Just wait til we get the sonics back. u people are evil

  • CRAPPY FANS??!!!?? Who do you call crappy fans?? You would feel the same way if you lost your team. I grew up with the sonics. And I can't wait for them to come back..It used to be where the trail blazers were my hated rival. But when or if they come back, oklahoma better watch out because they are gunning for you!

  • what is the title of the music in this clip?

  • Haha its nothing new people form seattle crying. I live in Oklahoma and i Love the thunder they are bad ass. Thanks for being crappy fans :) i am really enjoying your loss
