@MSTPIA I was at that game too, he would have hit a third home run most likely but the wind blew it back in, it was caught at the warning track, sucks can you imagine if he hit 3?
Got chills seeing this... I am a diehard Mets fan and the great moments Mike Piazza gave myself and all Mets fan will always be remembered. He is my favorite player of all-time, and even though he wasn't great defensively, he would bust his ass out there and made those Mets teams of 10 years ago great teams, despite not having a ton of talent. Go mets!
@freckles1329 Yeah, but it was a sight to see! How often does a player on the opposing team get a curtain call for hitting a homer off the home team? I was there for both games as well. Piazza was solid clutch and a class act.
@freckles1329 He got a curtain call for the first one though! And a mixed reaction for the second because the game was on the line. I was there for both too. Magical moments at Shea. (And I was a little surprised that the Mets played plate music for Mike! Raising the apple would never happen though, haha)
He was a Dodger 1st and play his best days in that uniform.

Even as a player on an opposing team, he still got the standing O. G-d how much we loved and miss Piazza.

He hit 2 homers of Pedro the next night, not the first game back. (If memory serves me right, I think that's Trachsel out there in this one.)

Thats great, I didn't realize that the standing ovation lasted almost a minute. I especially liked one heckler, "okay, thats enough- now strike out."
