Wrong. Defense has never been harder and more complex than it is now. Back in MJ's age everyone played man to man defence which allowed MJ to score very easily considering most SGs back then were around 6'4. Not only that, back in MJ's day he was even allowed to play isolation whenever he wanted. Zone d was legalized in the 90s in order to contain shaquille o neal which allowed for more complex d. Look at how battier d's Kobe now, you don't see ppl doing that back in Mj's day.
