I walked into a kill shelter 1 yr ago and there sat a magnificent Groenendahl two days away from death,he was so calm in what must've been the storm of his life,I took him home that day,he is now the calm in the storm of my life too! His name was Max (unworthy of him),he is now Poe,as I love Edgar Allen. H e is mixed with Border Collie,but looks unbeilevably Belgian,if you can rescue one please do,you'll have no regrets!
Can anyone please help me? I have been trying to find a groenendael for sale for awhile now and I cant find any in the midwest. Or any for sale at all in that matter. Every time I search I want one more and more. Can anyone give me any ideas where to look? I live in Iowa.
Aw He looks a lot like my friend's Belian, Bode. Too bad though, Bode is truely beautiful, but he's vicious. Very territorial and mean to my family cuz he doesn't know us. Are all Belgians like him, or is he different?
I don't think Belgians are suppose to be mean. They can be trained to be very good guard dogs and are very protective of there owners. I have a belgian/boarder collie mix. He's very gentle, but my mom was goofing off on day and was acting like she was gonna hit me to see what he would do and he did bare his teeth at her and snarl. He is a little territorial and will bark at strangers, but if he's vicious you friend has probably trained him to be that way

My Belgian is a sweetty!
He likes to cuddle, likes to lay on the sofá with people, he is spoiled unfortunately, we're going to try to fix that.
He comes and goes freely and have never even growled at anyone.
