  • The way the announcer speaks suddenly takes me back to 2002. God damn.

  • They cancel it to this project

  • THERE FUCKING CANCELED DAMNIT

  • @zagon2 VHS is far from the best. The region 2 dragonboxes are tge best hands down and the VHS versions are missing a shitload of footage from the series.

  • Blu-ray releases have been suspended.

  • OMFG IT'S CANZELLED!

    Not really, just suspended.

  • @DBKaiFANSonGokuRises If they were cancelled I'd be hunting Funimation down right now.

  • @DBKaiFANSonGokuRises And whats the difference between cancelled and suspended? for me its one and same thing

(sry for don't understanding, I'm from germany)

Holy crap, it's shocking that they are stopping releasing the BDs, which are in my eyes the best versions o.O

  • @RotDSKyle07

Suspended = Can be brought back.

Cancelled = Never ever brought back again.

  • @DBKaiFANSonGokuRises thx, that sounds good :D

  • Awesome! Now do Dragon Ball.

  • thumbs up if at 0:20 you started to think about toonami

  • I'm just gonna get both the Blu Ray levels for HD Quailty, and the DragonBox sets for collection purposes cause well the DragonBox sets are totally worth it cause it's basically the original Dragonball Z set. All they did for this was Digitally Restore it. I already have the Level 1.2 Blu Ray, and plus these are gonna take forever to get as well.

  • @badassrobbins123 You could always hold out for the Full Level releases. Which is what I've decided to do. There is other anime that'd I'd like to collect and I've already bought every FUNi DB release as far back as the VHS. Time to take a break. (I never bought all the orange bricks. Only got season 1.)

  • @badassrobbins123 This has actually been restored from the original negatives - it's as definitive as it gets.

  • @Raymint Nope, even FUNimation themselves have said they used the same master they used for the Season Sets as they used for the Level Sets. Which is a 2nd-3rd generation copy.

FUNimation does not have the original negatives. Toei Animation has them locked up in a vault in Japan.

  • @craddle15 Dude, I'm serious - it's in their making of. Search "DBZ Level 1.1 BluRay Bonus Feature Process Explanation"

  • @Raymint I know what it says. It's an exaggeration. They do not have access to the original film. Only Toei does. It is however the original film to FUNimation. Meaning the original film they were given by Toei in the 90's. FUNimation themselves said they used the same master as they used for the Orange Bricks.

  • @Raymint Quote from Mike (VeggetoEX) @ Daizex.com:

"This year, FUNimation used the *exact same film* as the Orange Bricks (no, they did NOT get a second copy of the series on film; I had this confirmed through emails with FUNimation) to do the "Level" Blu-ray sets."

  • @Raymint Any further discussion on the matter will be removed. Due Mike already having this confirmed though FUNimation themselves.

  • @craddle15 Jesus, dude, you had me at "the original film to funimation" - no need to remove me

  • @Raymint Haha sorry. I've been through this so many times already with so many people. My bad. :D

  • @craddle15 Then FUNimation really are full of shit - they should've done this ages ago. Not even for Blu-ray, just in general. So does that mean the colours we saw in the Dragon box are what they're meant to be?

  • @Raymint no they lie 4 cash they alwayssay the latest is the best but remastered kills top n bottom of screen. dragon box n kai kill the colors and the sides of it. blue ray killed the colors not as bad but still as u can see it downgrading form original just brighter standard vhs is surprisingly the best its the whole screen with oriignal colors wtf funi

  • @Raymint No there not. The japanese complained about the dragon boxes. Apparently the dragon boxes to them was orange bricks to us.

  • re-re-re-re-re-re-re-release over 9000 times?!

  • I fucking hate Funimation....they are seriously milking DBZ. I'm one box away from fin the Dragon Box and this shit comes out AND they're selling Kai too. Good thing I didn't buy the Orange bricks. Also I don't get how this is restored from the original film. Wasn't that supposed to be the DB? Maybe the only difference is it's HD and in Blu-Ray and not the authentic mm film like the DB.

  • @banan14kab It's not restored from the original film. It's restored from the original 2nd-3rd generation film that was given to them by Toei.

  • I want them to release Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT on Blu-ray!

  • @DBZreviews9000: Truly those are what I want, badly but even then I would wait for the box set of each if they are ever fucking released.

  • @DBZreviews9000 I'd personally rather have the Dragon Boxes first. Then have the option to buy Blu-Ray. Hopefully the sales from these sets will help them acquire the DBox rights to DB and GT.

  • Reminds me of a Toonami bump. Good advertising here.

  • Wow. I'm still collecting those orange box sets from 2006. This does look extremely good though.

  • @WickedKnightAlbel Use them for kindling.

  • @WickedKnightAlbel i'm finished i picked up the green gt sets and the blue dragon ball sets too. i just don't have all the movies.

  • Anyone else thinkin' Toonami??

  • @Neogamesparkfan100

The Dragon Boxes are being discontinued.

I'd rather stick with getting the Blu-rays if I were you.

  • this should have over 50 episodes per set... but 17? no THANKS.

  • @EnvelTheTrader restoring it frame by frame is prob very time consuming so thats prob wwhy

  • @Neogamesparkfan100 "30 to 40 dollars each"

Also, vol 1 is $50 and there's 16 left in stock. That one will be hundreds of dollars soon as well.

  • @craddle15 ye only vol 2 is over 200, but i wouldnt pay $40 for any of them. i have the orange box sets and its all i need. i get the same exact show.

  • @EnvelTheTrader and dude your so claled season are carp have bad color sond the blu rays fix all that and there no 40 there 20 i saw them for 20 if your ture dbz fan like me you wood pay for that

  • @ssjgotenks2009 their $25 without tax, and my so called season are dragon ball z.. i have japanese music, american music, japanese and english dialouge, i have all the colors i need. i find the season sets perfect the 16:9 is annoying but oh well. true dbz fan? imma dbz fan... im not a fan of the greedy corporate companys trying to squeeze every penny outta us.

  • @craddle15 up to 60 now

  • @Neogamesparkfan100 Also, cheapest vol.2 on ebay has been going for $200+

  • @Neogamesparkfan100

    Too late for the 200$ Vol.2 It's $450 now.

"Dragon Ball Z: Dragon Box Two Starring Sean Schemmel, Christopher R. Sabat, Sonny Strait, et al. (2010)

    DVD

    1 new from $450.00; 2 used from $326.99"

  • "Dragon Ball Z HD, coming up next. Only Toonami."

  • "Are you excited? You should be."

  • 17 eps? the Dragon Box has 42 each fuck this i'm gettin' Dragon Box

  • @CammyWho10 Too late for that. Some of the boxes are selling for $200+ each.

    Better off getting these.

  • i whatched all dragonball, DBZ (twice), and GT episodes... aswell as all movies... but i'm still hungry for more.

  • @vedo94wtf Only twice? Try a few hundred more times. Then hit me up.

  • Do you know if Funimation is going to release the full levels because I want to buy the whole series on blu-ray but not on 18 sets.

  • They will eventually. After these sets are released in a few years. By then, they'll be a better version out though.

  • @craddle15 no they wont nbga siad funi will no longer do dbz late 2014 by time all this out ti be clsoebe liek 2013 no way will no will they time do that nbga said funi will sotp after that and chris sbat said nothing cna get better then this blu ray ones that there no more they can do

  • Stick with the Dragon Boxes folks, this blu ray can't touch that one.

  • @tom11zz884 I have both. Dragon Boxes fail in comparison.

  • @craddle15 I agree that the blu rays have better picturequality, but the Dragon Boxes are still the best for collectibilty...just saying.

  • @tom11zz884 Agreed

  • is the orange box set/orange bricks is what is considered standard in the comparison at 0:22

  • @xelauyu No, that's the Dragon Boxes.

  • Up next...DRAGON BOX BLUE RAY! Funimation doesn't know when to quit!

  • @SpartanForgeWorld300 dude dragon boxs sucks goku some time slook as wittie as gohst or ohtwr times he pupple and frieza lsoe his skin color when he grasb gohan hair gohan armor fade in color some times blu ray fis all all this chris sbart said this the best they can do now that it wont get better then blu ray

  • Is this the Ocean Dub?

  • I hope this has the same dub as the single DVDs, and not the Orange bricks. Orange bricks ruined the scene when majin vegeta is about to scarfice himself :(

  • Finnaly my dream has got some attention by Toei, and is abt to bein' fulfilled Nov. 8! Hope the other bluray's don't take long on being released, 'cos i definitely will buy them all! Thumbs u if you too! And btw shame on the 6 fags who have disliked this, cos DB only deserves likes, dislikes r not included on his vocabulary!

  • @danyrx8 i to will get them all

  • @ssjgotenks2009 Me too dude, and this DBZ bluray release is the reason i want to go and live on the US! Luv the original eng dub!

  • Do these have Bruce Faulconer's EPIC music score in them? If so... they instantly become better than the dragonboxes for me. Im sorry, but his music was so awesome.

  • @n33wom Yes, they do.

  • Anybody know the intro music?

  • @TheARDORITO

  • Who voices gohan, stefanie or Colleen

  • @ImmaAdultGohan stfeanie will not collen as collen is gohan kai ator this this will have the old vocies is what chris sabet said

  • Will this have the original voice actors from the Ocean dub or is it still going to be like the Orange Bricks/Dragon Boxes where Sean Schemmel does voices Goku, Chris Sabat voices Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha, etc.?

  • @stealthfighter119 FUNimation voice cast.

  • @craddle15 That sucks i want the old voices too!

  • @danyrx8 dude this hsi the voices that war on the dragon boxs form funi they are the old vocies you here gohan old voice yelling at raditz

  • Should I get this or kai? and does this have swearing in it? cuz if it does i'm getting it.

  • @DaFunk14 Watch this

    I suggest this over kai.

  • *Dance's*

  • Dragon Ball Z - Blu-Ray Level 1.2 Trailer Added*

  • @Beatstylz it's not "obvious" that the blu rays are better than the dragonboxes. Itsall personal preference. I like the dragonboxes over the blue rays Any day. I think the quality is amazing.

  • what is the difference in the dragon box, Kai, and this? does this have the filler taken out? or is it just different because of the special features?

  • @Constantdoodle Watch this

    youtube.

    com/watch?v=

    B0sK3ekmPbQ

  • @craddle15 Copy any paste the link to view. In depth review.

  • @Constantdoodle this his the fller in it this is like the dragon box but with funi msuic

  • @Constantdoodle The Dragon Box's are the japanese version of Dragonball Z, Kai is the shorter more true to the manga series and this is the american/japanese version of the origanal Dragonball Z in blu ray I say this one beats the Box's and Kai cause this is the one I grew up watching remastered

  • @Constantdoodle theres also the orange bricks that are widescreen and are the american/japanese version of the orginal to so this just seems like the orange bricks but in fullscreen and blu ray

  • @178590Vageta dude it not the orange bricks hadf bad color this dos not this perfact color

  • @ssjgotenks2009 yeah I know that comment was put up before these were even released that comment was just my opinion of what they seemed like

  • With or without NEP's it would basically still be complete. They're nice but its really nothing that needed. If you want NEP then get those Dragon Boxes. It's pretty obvious though that the quality for this bluray from watching this trailer is better than the DBoxes. And it would probably look a bit more better when watching the actual bluray on your bluray player. But only 17 episodes a set? Not much but it's still worth it i think.

  • to all the people that bough the dragon box....u wasted your money!!! ^^

  • is this going to be 16:9 or 4:9?? if its going to be like yuyu hakusho and kai which was in 4:9 i am going to skip this shit.HD my azzz

  • @suPerrduPerrX HD doesn't mean 16:9.

  • @suPerrduPerrX This will not be in 4:9, do you have any idea what that would look like? It will be in 4:3. The originally aspect ration for TV shows during the time of DBZ's airing in Japan.

  • @suPerrduPerrX If you didn't like the Yu Yu Hakusho blu ray because it was 4:3 that proves what a massive, massive idiot you are. It was filmed in 4:3. In order to present it in 16:9, they would have to either crop the top and bottom of the screen or stretch it sideways. In other words, you're either looking at less than the whole scope of the image or everything will be over-wide and it'll look like crap. It's SUPPOSED to be 4:3, anything else would be totally unacceptable.

  • @rcarlson1993 they could have done it without cutting anything out, but that would mean more work. all they did was add more level of darkness to the picture and WHOA LA! YOU HAVE HD!!!! i bet you in couple of years or the next even that there will be another release of this series and that will be in clear 16:9. you can quote me on that.

  • @suPerrduPerrX When the original animators made DBZ, they filmed everything in 4:3. You can't change the PROPORTIONS of the film without cropping or stretching, both of which ruin the original image. Try taking a square picture and changing it into a wider rectangle without doing either. 16:9 has nothing to do with clarity/detail, it's just shape. What funi's doing is going back to the negatives (which are 4:3 and as nice as POSSIBLE) and getting a true HD transfer, not just making it "darker."

  • Dragon Box Blu-Ray. MAKE THIS SHIT,.

  • Frame by frame?

  • They make this after Dragon ball kai ? Seriously ?

  • what do they mean by original US version?

  • @SSJ2VEGEROTRULES Original dub. ie: Not redubbed. And I think they are trying to separate these from Kai. Since they're both Blu-Ray.

  • @craddle15 please help, will this have the US soundtrack? or the Kai soundtrack??

this is a big buy or miss for me

    PLZ REPLY

  • @SomeTotalRandom it iwll have us soundtrack not kai kai is did not exsit in the old days they siad this will vocie form the dragon boxs and the soundtrack for th seasons witch was us soundtrack

  • I'd actually be excited if this had a new dub with Japanese Music, old dub with English Music, and original Japanese Dub. I've watched the entire old dub with English Music, I tried to watch the dub with Japanese music, but it doesn't feel right to me because of the cheesy lines and poor acting at times. I like the old dub for nostalgia purposes, but now I want a dub that sticks closer to the original script like Dragon Ball Z Kai. And I'd be willing to pay extra...

  • Gen Fukunaga stated in the recent live internet interview it was the original footage straight from the vault.

  • @craddle15 As FUNimation only has the 16mm footage, then there's probably no DBZ NEP's. -.-

  • @FilMarck Well aware of this.

  • @craddle15 If they're going to call this set also "the definitive collection" then they should've got the footage that contained the NEP's.

Without the NEP's, DBZ is incomplete.

  • @craddle15 Yep, third generation... Kai was the one from the vault...

  • Original footage? I smell bullshit.

  • HD to me is called Redrawing it. -_- I'm not getting it. Not this time.

  • I'll stick to my Dragon Boxes thank you.

  • Same thing I was thinking. Brings back memories~

  • This feels like a Toonami intro.

  • @Kendamu The guy even sounds vaguely like Peter Cullen.

  • @Kendamu om geussing that was on purpus

  • I wonder how great of quality these will be guess we will find out soon.

  • can't wait
