  • O Sensei was a spiritual man and very humble. The purpose of Aikido is to make peace, not war. The masters who know how to use Ki/Chi, most of them were and are humble and do not want to show off. Because of this many non-believers thought that Ki/Chi concept is just a myth and no one can master it. But Bruce Lee was the one who proved to everyone that he had that Chi power. The new generation does not know who Bruce Lee was, but if you get kicked by him, it was like being hit by a truck.

  • These videos are priceless. Thanks for posting them. Wow, O Sensei was seventy something at that time and and can move like that. I do not understand the negative stuff people wrote. As a Martial Artist, one must be humble and respect all other Martial Arts. Many people claimed that they know how to use Ki/Chi but very few actually know how to use them. The two that I know can use Chi/Ki were O Sensei Ueshiba and Bruce Lee with his 1-inch punch, he demonstrated at the Karate tournament.

  • to "knowzwhatimeanz" : you should know the "Morehei Ueshiba" is dead and in the ground. With this said, Morehei was just a man that trained very hard. Whether the art works is up to the user. not everone that takes "Aikido" can fight, but others can just as with any other art out there.

I really like these videos so "thank you" to the people that post them.

  • that old man is fast as hell on a slow camera... i give that man props. we need to live like that old dude , emagine what type of shape most of our generation(younger) will be when were his age......probley slow as hell with a hump in our backs....but we can change that with sound judgement, relaxed life style , right foods(no preservatives),and regular exercise we might stand a good chance

  • O-sensei rocks! my moves are all choppy and crappy. he makes it look so freakin easy lol

  • HEY NO!! SERIOUSLY I'm not being rude, I want to know who is that woman and why is she in a dress rather than a GI !!

  • I take it there is no 5 of 5? of this , I sure can not find it.

  • the most important thing is the moving of feet. almost no one think about it.

  • shut up moron. you couldn't land a punch or any other attack on the founder of aikido. you'd be on the ground in less than a second.

  • Its called "I'm on acid"

  • HMM Who is the woman out there? for me it is weird for that time a woman there performing , I mean have seen many training but Havent seen women without a gi ...

  • WHY YOU thumb me down!! I wanna Know, HMM I see that seems koichi tohei , So is the woman one of his students?

  • where can i find part 5 ??

it has been fantastic in those 4 videos

techniques of O Sensei are more definied with more harmoius movements uke fly better and great demonstration

    of KI !

obviuosly you can't see it with eyes....

    thanks for upload

    peace!!!

  • The founder of Aikido Morihei Ueshiba Didn't intend for Aikido to be used for fighting but for peace. He was originally a Swordsman & practitioner of several old Jujutsu Ryu. IMHO, Aikido died with him as he could really make the techniques work due to his vast knowledge of Jujutsu and his fighting experience. Problem with Aikido now is that Practitioners think they can do what O-Sensei could do but without fighting for real against resisting opponents...Not!! there is no magic in fighting!

  • Check out my Lama Dondrup Dorje playlist, you might like it.

  • obviously, anyone with half a brain knows that Ki is a metaphor for inertia, and you can use these techniques in a real fight, i've used them many times

  • He plays them as a cat would a mouse.

  • i can feel th energy of this old man! it's amazing!!

  • Tiggon - you said "Aikido is not effective and it rarely works. Period. " My Aikido works, yours doesn't. I have hands on experience in personal security. I train local police and SWAT in both armed and unarmed combat. I also have a friend who uses Aikido techniques to teach soldiers at Fort Benning. People try and and label some sort of "magic" to aikidoka when it works well. It's not magic. You can't see it from the outside. But you feel it when it touches you.

  • @bushin64 ..the joint locks and throws that accompany them are useful. They are no better than the ones used in any other martial art form though. It is when people see the fake stuff like controlling people and objects without touching them that I and others start having a problem with aikido.

  • @mapache11 ..at least the "power of chi, qi , or ki"..whichever way you spell it.

  • @mapache11 ... yeah I agree.

  • @mapache11 - Agreed. Me too.

  • @bushin64 awesome ! i hope your advanced in studies about 9/11 being planned, the bilderburg group, the real deal of how things are around the world, the ancient past when high technology was, the bloodlines that have survived over 13,000 years and now run banks and stuff to create things like 9/11 and other evils. why though ? so maybe EVERYONE that we think we can trust in the military can do the PROPER job and understand who the real enemy is. They can't trick our consciousness ! >:L

  • @Studyflow I am not sure to what you are commenting

  • Tiggon- many people in Japan still wear kimono and hoari in daily wear. Of course these are mostly elderly folk. Does this make them crazy too like Ueshiba?

  • New age ! ?

Has the new age hijacked Aikido too ?

  • Most of all, I just wanted to concentrate my critics on the fact that he wasn't a charlatan, we did believe in what he was doing. Unfortunatelly, those around him worshipped him so much it gave no room for rational thinking. Aikido is somewhat spread in Brazil, but no police force or military corp use it; it's not effective and it rarely works. Period.

  • Well, bushin64, I'm really not in a true wish to argue if he was violent or not, but that he was delusional - he was. He died in the end of the 60's still wearing the same outfit he used to teach, in his everyday life. That's not only weird, it shows he wasn't in tuch with reality. Plus, I'm sorry, being a student of Aikido for 18 years does not grant you any authority to say what is true about Ueshiba, it just allows you to repeat what others said for years about him.

  • Why can't he be allowed to wear the clothes that were most comfortable to him? One's daily attire in few instances should be considered delusional if there is a good reason for it. And there was Ueshiba all along; expressing himself in the same way that made the most sense to him. His clothing reflecting his sense of perspective and dedication. There is nothing delusional about that.

Martial arts were his life. Hence his attire. I am sure Morehei was far more centered than most.

  • 18 Yrs of study does grant me authoritiy. I am recognized by Hombu dojo as a descendant of O-Sensei's tutelage. So are you arguing that what you have read (or in this case mis-read) about O-Sensei is more correct than my first hand eyewitness account of him? That's a poor argument. You're mixing this man up with Sokaku Takeda. Pay more attention to what you are reading. Also it's not weird to wear traditional clothing in Japan. Go visit. There are plenty of people still wearing it.

  • He's on of the famous figure in history to reach enlightment. At one point he defended himself against a real swordman with his bare hands. True story.

  • I'd rather draw my knife and do it "The Jack way".

  • He made a seminar attended here, in Rio de Janeiro, by many, who all stood in awe by the revelation.

If chi, or ki, is not true, it is quite hard for any of us to grasp. Manipulation of energy created by the human body is not, as has been documented for years. The only thing is, in the moment of a fight, the energy of both adversaries is usually high, and therefor the "training of the chi" to stop or control somebody in that state will be extreme, if possible.

  • I think giving opinions about what we believe or not won't really changed the way other people see it. Giving knowledge, that's another thing. For those of you unaware, Ueshiba was mentally ill, died completely paranoid, only walked around with sword-armed-students that guarded him from no danger at all. His last direct disciple says, with no hesitation, that the concept of "cloud hands" was totally bogus. "To hit somebody, you must touch him", if I quote correctly.

  • Tiggon - I've studied aikido for 18 years and have never heard of this. Mitsugi Saotome, who was one of Ueshiba Sensei's (O-Sensei) last uchideshi and was there at his death, once told me that towards the end O-Sensei was very kind and gentle and died peacfully surrounded by family and students. O-Sensei's final instructions was to "Train unceasingly for the good of all." Your story sounds more like Sokaku Takeda founder of Daito-Ryu Aikijujitsu.

  • I WANT TO SEE KI USING IN A REAL FIGHT !!!

    NOT IN TRAINNING !!!

i belive if ki really exist, it can beat any style of martial art. even old man can beat u if he a kiai master.

BUT THE REALITY NEVER SHOW ME THE PROVE !!

PROVE IT AND POST IT ON YOUTUB. OR I ALWAYS CALL IT BULLSHIDO

  • if KI was really exist.

prove it by beat some MMA fighter !!!

if u not. i will call it BULLSHIDO, crap style.

i used to believe it, but now i dont !! because i see a lot of prove of Ki bullshit such as : the human stun gun, the KIAI master that got beat up and many more.

plus the reason " the true master dont show their true ability until it was neccesary" BULLSHIDO

  • There's no such thing as ki in terms of throwing/punching someone without contact. It is possible though to express the intent to such a level in an atemi the person rather takes a fall then gets his nose punched in but that is psychology/instinct. Aikido isnt mysterious / esotheric. It's all about body mechanics and physics. Osensei discovered something amazing, but in order to explain & understand it he used religion/filosofi. He was a beliver, not a scientist.

  • i hope i will have power like you o sensei

  • you will never understand ki because your mind wont allow it. illusionists have been doing this for hundreds of years. Martial Artist have been doing them four thousands. Its something written in the oldest texts ever to date. Just because you cant see something does not deny its existance

  • I AGREE,

if u all dont want us insult u like this for ur mambo jumbo ki crap.

PROVE IT IN A REAL FIGHT !!! POST IT ON YOUTUBE.

GO FIGHT AN MMA FIGHTER LIKE SAKURABA or FEDOR !!! BEAT THEM WITH KI AND I BELIVE U LOL

  • ki means energy,...there is nothing what works without

  • can you still actualy learn aiki jui jitsu that aikido is based on

  • i agree that there are many illusionists.however,O Sensei is not an illusionist. He possesses true ki power. And by the way,Aikido does not work without ki.

  • Illusionists have been doing these simple tricks for years. All the Ki/Chi/Qi tricks you ever see have been done by illusionists for hundreds of years.

While Aikido is a very technical martial art, its practical aspects really have nothing to do with Ki.

  • WOW....those old white bearded guys actually exist!

  • whats the background music?
