At some point, products will be delivered through the internet, then printed on home based printers, like printing a photo of a family vacation. Kids toys, kitchen utensils, and home gadgets are all within reach now, assuming costs can be trimmed a bit FDM creates tough parts now.
@thenxtbillionaire Boeing and other aircraft manufacturers are already using 3d printers to manufacture parts for their planes. there are some clips of them demonstrating some parts that would be essentially impossible to build otherwise, and provide superior performance, strength and low weight. And they are also building them with 3D metal printers too.
This is the good side of the future. The bad side? Mass overpopulation, religious zealotry, starvation, populations on the move, armed gangs. Which will win? good or bad?
So i can see the future... Today we can get just about anything SOFTWARE based for free from Pirating or other ways but we can't get any physical things free. In the future everyone will have these "3D Printers" as frequent as we have computers. Sites like amazon or eBay might sell PS3 (Or any other physical objects) 3D models for us to buy then print out on our own. Piracy will over come that and we will be able to download a 3d Model file for a physical object for free. #ThefutureofPiracy >:)

I suspect the project had vibrational problems. I suspect the plane starts to fracture after a few flights due to the high frequency vibration of the engine.
@Ratama Unfortunately, technology removes more conventional jobs. On the bright side, jobs are made in the same process. 3d printers are a great feat in mankind, and such technology only advances us further. So in my opinion, that is the point of a 3d printer :)
