hands down, this is your best video. I always come back to watch this one...have it saved in my favorites. What a sick bass, wat a sick strike...nd wat a sick bait!
@Bbfishman I wish you could see the strike better on the video. She ambushed it and pinned it against the bank. It wouldn't have mattered what kind of line, leader, color of the bait, or anything else i was using. That bass attacked it with 100% conviction. I think when the big fish want to eat and decide to exert their energy, that's it. They don't play around.
is there any difference between a swim jig and a flipping jig? Please if you know, please describe the differences in detail, i'm curious and can't seem to find any information online
@1995Blackrosedying Go to the tacklewarehouse website and look at the jig section. They have the different types sorted out, and you can see what the differences are. I think they're very similar and will both work flipping or swimming.
Awesome pal- looks like you and I do about the exact same style of fishing- all retention in FL. Saw KVD using swim jigs a couple days ago- going to give it a go! Nice pull my friend- love it when they slam it up close
@Sn00kyCr00ksWorld No they are not, not even close to the sensitivity of the veritas or other high end rods. Plus shakespeare reels are made of plastic and will break on you easy, especially with big fish
@TheRealIceman863 you can think watever you want but in my opinion that was an easy 9. a six would be about that legnth but skinnier. that fish had some beef on it
@TheRealIceman863 my rule is if you cant fit your fist in ists mouth and its tight 5/6 if its loose about an inch 10 or up it is surprisingly accurate thought
@TheRealIceman863 yo im not talkin smack or anything but ive caughten 5 lbers and they looked like 2lbers and ive caughten 4lbers and i made them look like 6lbers. the point im tryin to make is you cnt call the fishes weight unless you were there, BUT the fish doesnt look like a nine but more of a six.
Wow that was a nice bass,Nice catch and release, fishing swim jigs are my favorite, do u or anyone else know of a spinning open face reel that is good and around 40-50 dollars, thanks
@MrBassfishin13 Thanks! As far as a reel goes, I have a Daiwa Exceller taht costs about $50. It's not the best, but It works for me when I use finesse techniques. A very good reel at $99 is the Shimano Symmetre. More expensive, but a lot more reel.
@robbylawson thats why i would rather largemouth fish 6 days of the week and twice on sundays rather than go to points and throw in a shakey head rig getting bit by spots all day...
I'm going to fish post spawn tomarrow the weather is 85+ and the water temp is 75+ should I look for those bass still hanging around the beds and pitch to them or wat ????
@MrRedfishhunter You live in Texas apparently, and I live in Florida. I have no idea what stage the bass are in in Texas. Don't worry about strategy too much, just let the fish tell you what to do. They should be active if it's that warm, so go out with a search bait until you find them. Then, start to put things together, like if your catching them near beds, grass, open water etc. Talk to Hatcambass, he might be able to help you with what stage Texas bass are in right now.
@phytobedo Haha I just got that rod... it snapped in half after a week of having it, but then I got a new one and I've landed plenty of bass on it, including a 6 pounder. I was using it in saltwater when it snapped. I had the biggest sea trout of my life on that pole haha then when we were heading back, I was tieing on leader and I pulled on the leader to test the knot and the rod just snapped lol
WOW! my bass faught the exact same way and looked like mine when it jumped out of the water! thanks for sharing the video man, itwas great. gunna have to try that lure
@hardnecker I tried to show it, but I stepped too close to the camera. It's hard to know what your filming when you take your hatcam off and prop it up in a bush to get a shot.
I have some family that lives in Orlando, I'm thinking about taking a vacation if KY weather does not straiten up soon. What kind if reel are you using?
I made a you tube video of what are waters look like right now if you want to check it out. There is a boat ramp 40' under the water there and this is about one half mile from the ohio river.
Nice fish Dave. Man it has rain so much up here in Ky. that every thing is flooded and looks like chocolat milk . It will take months for it to get right again.. The water looks a little low there I will send you some of this rain OK ..
@phytobedo Yea i now everyone in my area that bass fishes. And i have been fishing my area for 25yrs nothing over 7lbs... We got to long of winters for the bass to grow enough you know... But i wouldn't have it any other way i love it no matter what
I had 2 watchi it again! HD baby! hahaha, how close did he take it? It looks like 3-4 feetin front you, Also there really is such things as flying pigs! Crazy acrobatics fir such a big fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NICE!!!!!!!!!! 10/10
@EGOTTLIEB12 That close strike almost blew my heart valve off! She was strong too. That rod is heavy action with 50 lb Spider Wire, and you can see how much it bent the rod and ripped drag.
phytobedo always great to see you catch those monsters. Keep them coming. Went to lake O and caught over 50 bass but nothing over 5. I would rather of caught that 9 lber than numbers anyday.
