Oct 2010? If I'm not mistaken, the island and most others in the same water (East coast of Peninsular Malaysia) is closed due to monsoon season. The best time to dive is from April to August.
Los Angeles here. We have beautiful kelp forests and lots of sea lions just off the coast. :) Looking forward to doing some tropical diving -- thanks for the recommendations!
I am planning diving here Oct.2010. This and Ladang islands.
I have dived around Thailand and found there to be only little fish, very poor!

@deanja92 . You probably know better than me, I heard open until mid October?
Sea's get rough, so some dive sites are not safe then.

Hi Tirrus,
Nice knowing you. That particular site is Batu Nisan Dive Site (that's Tombstone Dive Site!, sounds eerie).
Didn't really have time to venture to all available site but may I suggest Terumbu Tiga and Tokong Laut sites. They're incredible.
Btw, where are you from? I'm from Kuala Lumpur.
