Great colors on your fish. I am a purist at heart but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate beautiful looking fish. I am a big Malawi fan and know how hard it is to keep all the peacocks in full color like that.
nice tank but I would think a show tank would have a better, more natural selection of tankmates that might actually cross paths in the wild. Tangs, Peas, haps, and on top of that a green terror?
Still don't know... Still not big enough to be sexed. At this point, I lean towards female, but proven male has shown no iinterest in this fish one way or another. Short of venting, would say the fish think it's a male.
I totally agree with you about these anal purists making statements about not mixing fish together. They all have been raisied in the same water locally by the breeders. Not only that but fish have different personalities too. I have frontosas with clown loaches in my tank. I also have a tank with GTs and Borleyis. The Borleyi is the boss.
@akysten accualy i was goig to said that there are some tanganika fishes there and malawi and american and loach but if they grow up togheter in my humble opinion is not correct but fine, and those peacok are fucken beautiful men really beautiful nice tank just if you could separate the specie will be great, look at me saying that mine have malawi ciclids and gourami but was the destiny lol my other comunity died and i include the baby's malawi so they grown togheter; any way good luck friend..
I may remove him then, but I don't know. His personality is completely different. He doesn't seem to care about the pecking order much as the malawis. If you get in his face, he'll whack you, but he does not chase other fish unless he's challenged.
This is unlike the Malawis that get in their breeding frenzy(even without females) and chase. Top agressors in the tank: C. Moori, C. Borleyi, P. Phenochilus, and Benga Peacock(though he focuses on just peacocks) All cause more trouble than GT.

While I had a green terror in the tank and it did work out, I would not recommend convicts.
When they start breeding? Well, that all depends on the species.. This was an all male tank anyway.

is that a green terror?? they're sth american and shouldn't be mixed with rift lake africans
nickzz4 3 years ago 4
Why shouldn't they? PH level? Water Hardness? Agression? Maybe you're a purist and don't like mixing geographic locations?
You must not have seen the Clown Loaches or Plecos! Two more soft water low PH fish.
