Cleaning Wheel Weights GREATLY Cuts Down on TOXIC FUMES. Dirty WW= Gas Mask Time. Ivory Soap is one of the best Fluxing agents there is and I find it Is Better to Add some Ivory when Smelting WW. After you clean the WW spread them on Lawn Leaf Bags, work great. Rain can also Aid with doubble or more cleaning Wheel Weights. A warm/hot day out side on the drive way Drys What Detergents do you use to clean them with?
It is Wheel weight Hunting Season get em while available.
Everyone has their own little way of doing things. It is good to see how others do theirs. I personally do not wash mine and the reason I do not, the oils and grease and grime that is on the wheel weights, also makes a good flux. Kinda think of it their own little way of helping to flux the pot along. I still add parafin wax to flux with so really it isn't that big a deal. Thanks for sharing your way of doing it.
@daywalker 627 Never thought of that. Thanks for the tip. I think that there is always room to learn something new too. Like you said everyone has their own way of doing things . That's why I think its good to post our techniques and progress in our hobby.
