Thank you so much for this post , absolutely loved this band , yep I saw them in the Glasgow Tech too , christ the Burns Howff !! 8 pints of heavy every Saturday morning then stagger down to MacCormacks to see Donald , then back up for round two !! Happydays indeed , Glasgow in the 70s had great bands , Chico down at the Dial Inn, wee Henry Gorman , where are they now ?
@herbert000sherbet - The LP and EP are available on a Japanese CD. Try Amazon UK (they had one last time I checked), Amazon USA and also Amazon Canada. Prices vary from about 15 quid (UK) to 60+ (Canada). All sites appears to be down to one or two copies (Music Stack is all vinyl inc. singles and I saw a CD-R). The Japanese CD is wonderful... a mini album sleeve, and having the EP tracks added is a real bonus. And it all - still - sounds great.
Saw them at Glasgow College of Technology (now Caledonian Uni ) around 1975/76
great to hear again . There were some great Glasgow bands at that time . Happy days and nights at the Burns Howf / Maggie / Dial Innn watching these bands .
@herbert000sherbet I agreed: there's no justice! I'm just thankful I saw them live. They also did at least one set live on Radio 1. Their live sound was staggeringly good and engineered to perfection.
@herbert000sherbet - The AWB trumped Cado Belle cuz they came along first, had a better concept, were better players, had better songwriting, had better vocals, the rhythm section was superior to this one... And they were on Atlantic Records. Don't get me wrong, I love Cado Belle. I have copies of the LP, of the EP, and of the CD (which contains both). I saw Cado Belle several times in Edinburgh (our bands shared the same agent), and they were great. But the AWB was serious stuff!
Ps where can I get the full cd of this concert , Andy Dalby is one of my all time favourite guitarista

Fantastic, along with the true measure of real talent, "can they do it live". Listen and the answer is so obvious. Fantastic, did I say that already?

Maggies Reilly and Bell, the AWB lads, Frankie Miller, Jimmy Dewar, and the list goes on--guess Scotland is just blessed with soul and talent.

Why were the Scots so good at this style of music and why did the Average White Band eclipse Cado Belle?
