@ leolionstarr - I really can't even recall this at all and I didn't have much packing anyway. So, it certainly didn't linger. My only real side effect was just feeling a bit worn out for a few weeks - about at 80% for two weeks and then I remember being a bit stuffy, due to inflammation, for a couple of months. All clear now. It is over a year later and thru a very tough allergy season, no sinus infection! wow!
Im 15 and i might have to have sinus surgery. So i have a question. When u had the packing removed, was it just a quick pain, or a long lasting pain???
I half to have surgery to remove a cyst, a bone that is grown in my nose that ain't supposed to be their and a deviated septum. 8 days after surgery I am invited to go to Mall of America and I really want to go! I'm 18 and nervous about the recovery more than the surgery. Do you think I will feel up to Mall of America?
@Letthelightshinedown - My doctor told me that I should be off work for one week after the surgery and that the next week, I would be around 80%. Even the third week, I would say that I still felt tired and was around 80%. So, as long as you don't totally overdue it and realize that you probably will need some extra rest and play things by ear a bit, you would probably be OK. Of course, be sure to discuss with your doctor. Good luck!
Well for starters, you look like your feeling great for recovering! Second, I have to have surgery. Im 17, and they discovered in my MRI that i have Polyps in both of my sinuses. I have been stuffed up since the begining of November of 2009. First it was a cold, then one thing leads to another... So im going to have fun this summer lol do you have any advise?
@duff1018 Hi- I think that you are going to feel so much better! you are so young! I wish I were as smart as you! I would say to take it easy after the surgery. I was stuffy for around two months after my surgery becuase it took a while for the swelling to go down. secondly, be sure and do all the things your doctor says. Best wishes and be sure and post back about how you did!
I have a deviated septum and sinus polyps and I have lost count of the amount sinus infections I have had. Instead of doing someting about it i ve been taking 10 to 15 mg of prednisone daily for the past three years. Soon I am going to the specialist to have something done about it. The only concerns I have are getting a super bug after the operation and getting off prednisone.
@mcpeo sorry for my late reply! It took a couple of months for all of the swelling to go away but ever since then, I can't believe how great I can finally breathe! it really seems like the whole passage way has gotten so much better!! good luck!
Hi Diane...thanks for the video! I was having second thoughts until I saw this.
I had surgery 2 weeks ago and have been 99% pain free during the entire process which surprises me considering the amount of work that was done. The worst post surgery issue was nausea about 8 hours after surgery and the only discomfort was about 72 hours after when I started to get pressure similar to a sinus infection. I blew a big chunk of something out of my nose the next day which resulted in instant relief!!
@5d6195 glad to hear you are doing well! I am doing absolutely wonderful now about 8 months after the surgery. I really feel like a new person! Even with all of this year's allergy problems, I haven't had any problems (knock on wood!). I went from being sick once every four to six weeks to only being sick once in the past 8 months. I'd say that's pretty good! take care!
If you are dizzy after the first day or 2 it is the anesthesia.I was very dizzy and nausiated the first day till the doc gave me meds for it.The meds worked in just minutes and i felt much better.I did not eat until about 10 hours after surgery because of the nausea.
I am now 12 days post op.Horrible pain first 4 days (first 2 days were agony).Steady sinus pressure and pain still to this day.Can breath great now though.Had septoplasty, turbinate reduction, balloon sinuplasty and polyps removed.Once these sinus headaches go away I will hopefully feel much better.I hear it takes up to a month for the sinus cavities to eliminate the swelling in people with a history of infection.Slowly feeling better daily and it took until day 11 until the bloody mucus stopped.
good. I can breath super good. The pressure is still there especially after they suck out all the dry blood and huge scabs. it feels like they drill your head. Any way i hope i get better and i hope you do too. God bless you.
It may be 3 days of pain and it being totally unbearable but I have to say- after that you can smell the coffee in Brazil and I live in Australia. It was the best thing that I have done.
hi, i recently had sinus surgery and i feel like presure kinda dizziness. just wondering if you experienced the same thing. And if you did did it go away. Ihad the surgery to remove cysts from my maxillary sinus. Correct a deeviated septum and they opened up my sephiod sinus and trimmed my bottom turbinate. they said there was no infection. But im about to shoot myself, cause of this thing going on in my head. its always there and. I went to my second post op appt and they said it was healing.
Thanks for your video!Having the same surgery on wednesday oct 14.I hope I feel as good as you after the surgery.Scared as hell to do it.But after 22 years of agony and constant sinus infections,I just have to do it.
i just had it done . i feel better but still have some like head aches

How long after the surgery did it take you to breathe through your nose? Please answer back as soon as possible. Thank you!
