Great video presentation. All the information discussed about grow lights will certainly help any novice hydroponics grower to understand the different light fixtures that their plants will need in order to reach their maximum potential.
i was thinking of putting a hps light in a small closet to grow vegtables during the winter months. would a 400w bulb generate too much heat for a closet? how about a 250w bulb? any advice would be appreciated.

true, but ive always heard that start it out with blue cause that stimulates growth cycle more but yeah red is good to though, mainly though you do need around 30,000 lumens should do well
thanks for the info but how do i power them. meaning do i plug em into an outlet or what. btw here are the lights...

@Sh0tCallr
Yes you definitely need a ballast with the matching wattage to your bulb or you cannot run an HID unit.

So... do you HAVE to use both bulbs?
Start with MH then go to HPS? or can you just start at HPS all the way from baby sprout to harvest?

mh blue is 10 times better for vege then go to red hps for flower and you will get 85% more bud

so when switching to 12-12 light go with the red hps? before that use mh blue.

Unlike most videos, your presentation really spells out the details.
My tomatoes are on 2 4' Sodium 40W@ 16hrs/day. The day is too long. No wonder they don't bloom.

but see you need blue to grow and red to flower
