  • what a graceful gymnast

  • She and a few others are an endangered species: elegant, graceful, beautiful gymnasts

  • @javito1229 I agree.I am a big fan of gymnast's who can balance elegance, grace and power.Id like to see more difficulty from her though,But she is a fabulous gymnast. She puts the A in artistic gymnastics.

  • I can't believe she retired she was the most artistic on the team

  • @guizar24 when did she retire?

  • I can't believe she is retiring D: She was one of my favorite gymnasts to watch and she will be sorely missed by many fans including me.

  • @KeflezighiFan I know! I was shocked when I heard, I honestly thought she was as close to a "lock" for the 2012 team as she could be. Romania are going to struggle on bars without her and she's such a fan favourite.

  • Her form was a little messy in some of the tumbles but her beautiful dance makes you forget that. It's nice to see that there are lots of good dancers going for 2012

  • nastia learn from this!

  • @proudpotterfan please dont.Nastia balance's artistry with difficulty.ana wish's she was as decorated as nastia. There is nothing ana has on nastia.Nastia performed a better vault, bars, beam and floor than ana.You are wayyyyyy out of line.

  • @Ricoblack2012 can you not type with numerous typos? btw, I know Nastia has more difficulty than Ana. What I meant was that I thought Ana had true artistry and a delicateness to her gymnastics that many lack.

  • @proudpotterfan many may lack but not nastia.and who gives a flying fuck about a type o.you understood every thing i said!

  • @proudpotterfan ana will never equal nastia..point blank period.

  • She did not fall out of her pirouttes, only a little damage in her Memmel turn. I also like this commentator, she is positive, I hate commentators who only see the flaws in the girl's work..It is disrespectful to all the hard work put in to be there. It is very easy to find mistakes and flaws when you're sitting in your computer...

  • @solferrer1 I disagree,Because they are only letting people know where the deductions are coming from.an untrained eye could be confused after a routine they think is perfect, but has many minor deductions, like a leg seperation or crossed legs.

  • she deserves to win !!!!!!!

  • She really needs to work on those spiky hands. She’d be a nice dancer if she didn’t have deadly weapons on the ends of her arms.

  • @ZCaus I think it looks elegant. She did her pirouettes better than most people do. She's one of the best commentators around. And she discusses so many technicalities. She discusses beauty, which you don't seem to appreciate. Christine is not biased. She, and many others, are so thrilled to see Ana's floor routines. You don't see graceful gymnastics that often anymore.

  • Usually I love this gymnast, but this female commentator is an idiot. How can she comment about the beauty of the pirouettes when she FELL OUT OF THEM?! How can she be so blind to all the deductions in this routine? British and American gymnastics commentators never discuss the technicalities of the sport, and they create false ideas in spectators’ minds. This routine did not deserve a medal – hence the fact Porgras came 5th. She is an incredible gymnast, but the commentator is biased.

  • She has messy tumbling, but she's an incredibly beautiful dancer!

  • She is the most beautiful gymnasts I have seen! Her landings are clean and her routines are fluid! I love watching her perform!

  • What is this music? Anyone know?

I really like her, watch out 2012! Romanians, after all, won the last two Olympics in Floor Women's exercise, with Catalina Ponor (2004) and Sandra Izbasa (2008)

  • @ChristineTheHippie it's waltz 2 by dmitri shostakovich

  • @lastofnoone Ahh. Thank you!

  • In a perfect world either her or Grishina would be the best AA gymnasts in the world :(

  • OMG perfect!

  • Thank you BBC commentators! Thank you Ana.

  • *sigh* I love this routine.

  • I love the fact that even when she's getting ready for a tumbling pass, the leg bending in prep to run is still in time with the music!

  • awesome gymnast beautiful and hot too

  • excellent gymnast...beautiful and stylish.

  • she's so kickass! congrats romania

  • Wow!

    Elle est si gracieuse!

  • well done ana go ahead!!!!

  • THIS is what a gymnast should look like!!!! god, nice to see that the new code hasnt affectd atleast one gymnast. the rest of them look like robots.

  • @jordynbartlett19 Don't agree

  • @USANieke what dont you agree with? shes elegant, flexible. beautiful to watch. i would rather see a graceful gymnast do simple things and make mistakes than an over-run powerhouse gymnast with difficulty but no presentation or elegance. its boring. a lot of gymnasts cant even show a decent split anymore. like a bunch of robots. do not see how you disagree with me.

  • @jordynbartlett19 The gymnastics that we see from ana porgras is very beautiful ofcourse, but I like more the gymnastics from people like shawn johnson. She can also do her moves perfectly but it is more difficult and so cooler to watch. I also think that gymnastics is a sport for daredevils and not for ballerinas. Anyway it's nice to see some variation in the sport.

  • @USANieke this is called artistic gymnastics afterall, I´d definitely say grace should be much more required than "daredevils".

and actually gymnasts like Shawn should be the ones mentioned in the" variation" of the sport you´re talking about, not Ana.

  • @tchachinafan What I mean by variation is that there is variation between Shawn and Ana. Not that shawn or ana belongs to a variation group. I love shawn and I love ana they are both great. So I'm happy that there are gymnast like shawn and gymnasts like ana. I don't think that it should be all the same gymnasts.

And about 'artistic' gymnastics. That word is old school, you don't have to be artistic to be a good gymnast. (but ofcourse the artistic gymnasts are also great)

    You know what I mean?

  • She is would Gina Gogean could have been is B & B hadn't squeezed out all that dance and creativity. And Gina was a fab tumbler too. I think Christine Still would not have complained if this beat Beth Tweddle.

  • I'm so excited for the new year to see her perform with this experience behind her. Go Ana!

  • how old is she?

  • 16 years old

  • THE NEW FACE OF ROMANIAN GYMNASTICS

  • why was her A score 5.5 if originaly it is a 5.7?

  • Because they downgraded her double turn at 180 degrees to a single turn, as they devalue turns by a single turn on floor. That made her count a B element instead of a D element, thus making it a 5.5 D Score, instead of the 5.7 she intended. =]

  • amazing....foarte frumos...she is going to be a star in a few years

  • sa speram...dar si merita!! e foarte dragutza si eleganta si muzica ii sta bine!

  • She reminds me of Gina Gogean, but MUCH more artistic

  • yea, with a similar look, but more innocent and angelic, and at least nt like a robot.

she is a beautified version of gogean, and one more thing as well: she knows how to dance!

  • lol That's exactly what I was thinking when I first saw her. She almost look exactly like Gina Gogean, but with more artistry. Was it just me, or does Rebecca Bross occasionnally look like Lavinia Milosovici at a certain angle?

  • No awkward corner poses. Amazing!

  • @potassiumiodideki

    i agree :)

and e she's much better than gogean onthe artisty front.

  • i like her but i was kinda sad not to see sandra izbasa and jiang yuyuan in this floor final ....

  • I love this routine. Her memmel turn is so beautiful. She has such grace and artistry.

  • I was curious, so I watched Chellsie Memmel do the memmel turn... not nearly as fantastic as Ana's! she keeps that leg so high and straight, it's amazing!

  • @javajunkie6

romanians always have better artistry i think (like the chinese :P)

  • I don't know about that-- watch Simona Amanar's 2000 floor or Gina Gogean's 1996 floor. They have the skills, but they just look a bit awkward... Yes, maybe they are better than the Americans, though. The Romanians have had exceptions who are artistic, though, like Andreea Raducan, Alexandra Marinescu and of course Ana Porgras.

  • @apcmos which one is the memmel turn?

  • It's the one at 0:59

  • Music: Waltz 2 of Dmitri Shostakovich

  • You go Porgras!! You are so elegant and beautiful to watch!!! Wow!!

  • AWESOME

luv ana pogras btw whats the name of her floor music ?
