  • the end of the classic era of anime; the 70's and 80's. That is what this song symbolizes to me. Even its "farewell" tone I think unintentionally says goodbye to that era.

  • I just went through the theme songs of the animes I grew up with in Honduras. Funny; I watched this 2 years after first arriving in the states, and this theme song almost said "goodbye" to both my childhood, and the animes I used to watch. This song gave me an overwhelming feeling that "this time is over." It was indescribably sad.

  • youtubers, anime fans PLEASE save this song to your computers; this song is so beautiful it can not, and it SHOULD NOT fall into obscurity.

  • sorry for being such a troll youtube but seriously, the way this song expresses the sadness I felt when my childhood came to an end is just spooky.

  • this song makes me all melancholy like; it marked the end of my childhood in Honduras, where I often watched animes similar to this one. Eerily enough, Red Photon Zillion was the last anime of its kind.

  • This anime is one of my favorite ending themes...EVER. Brings me back to my childhood days.

Thank you for translating the song. The lyrics are sadder now that I know! :)

  • one of my favorite anime I only saw this one VHS gotta get the dvd of this.

  • I love this song.

To me it's more than just the end of Burning Night. It's in fact the end of all the good anime I watched when I was young.

  • i <3 this song so much and the intro as well, but how can i download these 2 songs? its not on limewire so can anybodyy tell me how can i D.L. these 2 songs please!! i would higly appreciate it:)

  • one of the first few animes i saw when i was kid staying up way too late, lol

i still have it on vhs, it was network one that started my humble beginings. im so glad i taped it and the others that came after it

  • A song from my geek high school days dedicated to who ever .

  • Animes like "Zillion" aren't dead; the guy who did Beebop and Champloo uses 70's and 80's traditions regarding narrative and character interaction, but mixes it with modern animation. Most animes today are eye candy but no substance, whereas 80's and 70's anime was very character driven.

  • Some of the later episodes of Zillion were amazing and definately had a high level of action for it's tiime.

Motorcycles ! Guns ! Mecha ! Zillion really set the trend for anime and action films !

I remember seeing Zillion for the first time when I was like 12 years old. Lets just say I was blown away, nothing in the USA could compare at the time.

Also I can't lie, Apple was fucking HOT !

  • Oh. Honestly, I would love to visit Japan someday while I'm still young, but that probably won't happen unless I hit the lottery anytime soon. I was also under the assumption that Japanese people made more money than average middle-class Americans, but I guess you learn something new everyday. Thanks for the info.

  • I honestly thought anime made in the 1980s was darker than most of it made in the '90s and the 2K.

  • That's love for you, stardingo747

  • Well said.

But yeah, that's another thing I loved about Rick's character. He was really the only character I liked. I wonder why it didn't work between them

I wish I could find pictures of Rick, but I only found one.

  • streamline pictures anime is really hard to find these days; the company went under a long time ago when Macek finally retired from translating anime. The reason Macek retired, is because anime moved away from themes that made people watch it in the first place.

  • Do you know which episode in Zillion Rick appeared in?

  • Didn't Risa Yuki sing Crystal Celebration from the Appleseed OAV/OVA OST?

  • thanks for posting; been looking for this song like, forever.

  • I liked the character Rick; he was a true Samurai.

  • "I liked the character Rick; he was a true Samurai."

Yeah, Rick was a badass! I wish we could have seen when Apple was with Rick.

  • Hey can please upload the anime.

  • I love this anime!

Love the song too! Jay-Jay and Apple...damn...

    too bad for Rick...

  • I miss beautiful, hand-drawn animation like this. Streamline Pictures fails for not dubbing the entire Zillion series in the US. Funimation needs to pick it up!

  • Zillion was probably the last anime of its kind, so this song serves both to end the series (or the begining of the end), and as a swan song for an era of anime.

  • Still, I would love to see the Zillion series in its entirety.

  • 名曲です。

  • hell yeah! I have this on VHS, and I rememeber when I was young I dubbed the audio on to a cassette tape so I could listen to it on my walkman...

    damn...those were the days...the late 80's/early 90's...

  • I did th same thing and I still listen to it!

Every year at the comic convention here in San Diego, I roam around the place to find the Zillion: Burning Night DVD...but to no avail...none of them carry it...=(

  • ah, memories ("=

    luv this anime.

Aside from Apples Sayanara song. What was the melody playing in her locket? I forgot D=

  • i absolutely loved this song and this anime...

  • hey, mercurystar69, the video game rocked.
