  • When I was in jr high ,I was in band class ,this was in the mid 70,s . She toured around to schools ,I saw her and she changed my life . I trace my love of jazz to her. I am forever in debt to her.

  • Marian McPartland looks like the most gentle and kind person ever ! and she's a DOPE pianist

  • @FlowJazz haha yeah for sure, man her voicings were really nasty on that ballad improv, and you´re right, it seems like she always has a smile on her face

  • I love you Marian! I just wanted you to know that a dear friend of yours, Terry Jean Pollard has passed on. Dec.16, 2010. We know you loved her and she loved you. All the best from Dennis her son.

  • She is SO GOOD!

  • Marian Is a beautiful person with a beautiful sound. How is a jazz pianist supposed to look? She has good sound and can play contemporary as well as the traditional thing that she played first on this recording. On Come Rain or Come Shine she explores quartal and quintal harmony.
