  • It's great to see a pro using a normal amount of strings and slowing down in his vids not some £5,000, 6 string tree trunk hanging off some guys chin being played at a million miles an hour.

  • Mr. MarloweDK could you explain me why you can play this over an A9 chord?

  • Everytime I sit to practice or just to see what you have postd, I feel as if I'm seeing an old friend. Thanks for your time and gift of talent.

  • Greetings Marlowe!, Can I ask , did you change your pre map in your Marcus Miller...?...I see it has 4 black knobs instead of the 2 black 2 chrome knobs. Which pre amp did you go for ? as I am looking to change mine in my Marcus Miller.

  • Hi Marlowe! what kind of string you usually put on your miller jazz? thanks!

    Ste.

  • Very nice Jaco tone! :D

  • its good to see these new riffs in HD, fantastic for learing on. Are you using a seperate camera to record the the clips on?

  • Hey marlowe do you anchor your thumb or like let it slightly hover but at the same time still keep it so that it blocks and mutes the other strings so that they dont accidentally ring out, basically i just wanna kno what you do with the right hand technique

  • nice nice.. :D

  • marlowe got contacts?

  • Made the bass lick shortly after a run, still wearing contacts yes:-)

  • No Glasses?

  • man that sounds awsome! thanks marlowe!

  • hey marlowedk, love your stuff man.

  • well, this is the tc electronics top , isn't it?

i tried in a music store with a stingray and a glockenklang box. it sounded so crappy.

  • Need to comment again, just learn it, great lick, thanks! :)

  • Dude! I love your tone! I must find it.

You have to produce some the best bass licks on youtube, they're all so funky and smooth... But dude, where are your funky glasses?! I thought their thick rims GAVE you the funk... Hope I can play like you someday man :D

Funk on! (I said the word funky/funk 6 times if you count just then lol)

  • alguien me puede decir que cabezal es ese? gracias.

  • At first i was like damn..what a beautiful Jazz ..oh yeah it's a Marcus Miller. Then i'm like shiii Marlowe is styleing...nice..look. Nice lick Marlowe.

  • id rather say Pastorius, Miller tends to play more spacey, chunky, short sentences, i agree with the rest :)

  • Ha HA..not the Lick...the bass he is playing is a Marcus Miller signature..fender jazz bass.

  • hehe sorry, didnt notice that, right

  • more of that

  • cool lick

  • LOVE your bass sound...

  • Wow!!! That was refreshing. I love the feel of this one!

  • gotta say, I love that Marcus Miller-esque pickguard!

  • the bass is a Marcus Miller signature model.... lol

  • wow! i really really like this one!

i just want to let you know that you have helped my bass playing skills so much! i have been playing a little over a year.

  • you look different? did you get a hair cut?

  • No glasses. :O

  • that's one of my favorites that you have done Marlowe! hope you had a great vacation.

  • I'm curious Marlowe, who is your favorite bassist?

  • Dont have 1 but many favorites, and i discover new ones all the time

  • Okay fair enough, i guess I'm like that too, however, if you were to choose five or so bassists that you like at the moment, besides yourself of course, who would you pick?

  • Ok, my alltime favorites:

Larry graham, Louis Johnson, Bobby Vega, jaco Pastorius, Anthony Jackson, Marcus Miller. Newly discovered: Uriah Duffy, Joel Smith....

  • Interesting choices Marlowe. I like your style.

  • heej marlow.. er du selvlært bassist? eller haft en lærer?

  • Både og; Det teoretiske kan jeg takke Bo Stief og rytmekons for. Mine funk chops står jeg selv for;-)

  • no glasses?

  • nice riff

  • Wow this is a sick one. I've GOT to learn this. Ace job Marlowe.

  • though I dont even play the bass (I play the guitar) I really love your videos!

    stay groovy m8!

  • @JOELchannel7

I don't play the bass, and I also play the guitar, and I'm not able to do that riff!

Before knowing theses videos, I hate Bass and bassists, I thought they weren't important. Since I've seen Marlowe's videos, I can't imagine a rock band without bass! I can't imagine me without a bassist!

    THANK YOU MARLOWE!!!

  • @chokicou

sry I dont get what you mean

I meant to say that I love listening to Marlowe and his groove

    cheers

  • @chokicou Typical guitard :-p

  • Very groovy!

  • I wish I had 1/4 of the groove MarloweDK has. lol

  • Thanks

  • from now on:

whenever I see someone playing awesome bass, they are in fact, "marlowing" to bass.

    Victor Wooten marlowes the bass.

    Stanely Clark marlowes the bass.

    MarloweDK marlowes the bass.

  • @MjaTheNoob Stanley Clarke was a master long before Marlowe so maybe Marlowe is Stanley Clarking the bass. :-) Or Jacoing the bass etc. Give the old masters their due. Without them Marlowe wouldn't be what he is. Or Wooten etc for that matter.

  • lmao, you dont think i know that?

  • No I didn't or you wouldn't have said those great bassists were "marloweing" the bass. MarloweDK is a super bassist technically but compared to the careers and achievements of the bassists you mentioned he can't compare.

  • @tbcass

So? Some of the best bassists ever are guys who have never been discovered because theyre unlucky, unwilling to sell out, or from a different country where music isnt like it is in the US.

Marlowe has done lots in Europe, most of which we never hear of here in the States.

  • chill, dude. i was only trying to compliment the dude, not trying to make a whole thing abouy it.

  • that is tight INDEED..

  • cơol bass playing, check out my guitar show

  • Always an inspiration! Love the high quality as well :D

  • this lick made my day : ) thanks marloweDK!

  • tighttttttttttttttttttt

  • Fender MM Jazz! Great as always.. :))

  • woooo this one i'm gonna learn! :)

  • great tone, great fingerstyle, and very accurate playing..

  • In one word : Marlowe ;-)

  • ...simply unique.

  • Okay, this is what happened.

First, i freaked out and called my friends in one big video call saying that this video was SPECTACULORZ.

And then, we all watched it together and jizzed all our pants at the same time and because of that ,and all the positive energy being send into the cosmic, there is world peace now and every badguy dropped dead.

But then, i woke up, smelling like shit, looking like shit, smoked my last sigarette and found out i'm impotent.

    FML.

    Awesome lick tho.

  • are you on drugs?

  • @HH003 Short answer: Yes.

  • So good, as always, amazing lick to hear!

But where are your glasses ? :D

  • Awesome as always

  • I like it!
