And during the 90's, some of the 80's rappers probably disliked the rising trend towards Gangsta Rap and mainstream exposure that Hip Hop was receiving at the time. And rappers from both eras have also criticized (rightly so in some cases) the trends that occurred in Hip Hop during the 2000s such as fashion statements (which been around since the Old School Era), Auto Tune (h8 It!), over-commercialization, Pop-Rap (which been around since Cool J's day), and even the odd choices of production.
At the end of the day, it's all based on the opinion and perspective of those grew up on the mindset of what constitutes as real Hip Hop. And while I am happy at the thought that Ice-T's own son think SB is wack, unfortunately none of the other kids would probably share his perspective. Plus, there is always that ignorant sense of history from both sides of this issue. 'Cause as Nelly stated, old folks back in the 80's thought that Hip Hop was trash, nonsense, and depraving.

And during the 90's, some of the 80's rappers probably disliked the rising trend towards Gangsta Rap and mainstream exposure that Hip Hop was receiving at the time. And rappers from both eras have also criticized (rightly so in some cases) the trends that occurred in Hip Hop during the 2000s such as fashion statements (which been around since the Old School Era), Auto Tune (h8 It!), over-commercialization, Pop-Rap (which been around since Cool J's day), and even the odd choices of production.
