Nobody actually knows exactly why the ringfortresses were built. There are numerous theories, but they are damnably impressive constructions, even today. Standing there makes one really appreciate the power of the place.

It was done by cutting open or removing the vertical bone in the middle of your ribs (dunno the name). When that was done he would pull open your chest. The ribs are under great pressure and when you pull the ribs out they would jump open with great force to both sides of the body. The ribs looked like wings
