  • these stupid 3.8's sound like mini vans.

Its not even worth putting any kind of exhaust on a JK...unless its got a hemi.

  • @herbienbrian2 Thats one bad ass sounding mini van and if your going to switch engines dont put a crappy hemi in it. For real power put a 4 cylinder cummins in it.

  • i wanna do this cant you explain what u did and did u have any problems

  • @cyaple I just had a local muffler shop remove the muffler just where the exhaust pipe enters it. Then they welded a tip on the end of the pipe and made it so it was out of the way for offroading. It cost me a total of $40 and after a couple years has caused me no trouble. Only complaint is from my wife who says it's too loud on long road trips.

  • @110degrees nothing sounds better than a straight piped jeep... straight six?

  • @MRxDAZZLE

    This year of Wrangler didn't have the 4.0 i6. It's a 3.8l v6. Not a very popular motor...

  • did you have to do anything with back pressure im thinking about doing this how did u do it

  • what size lift

  • @cyaple 2" Old Man Emu lift with 1" M.O.R.E. body lift.

  • dat RPM float.

  • technically its not straightpiped if you still have cats... just sayin

  • That sounds terrible.

  • This sounds great! I have a question though. What is essentially done when you straight pipe you exhaust?

  • Pretty much just took the muffler off

  • @dave451pr No muffler, not cat, just piping and that's it.

  • very nice sounding

  • love the jeep

  • So if they only took the muffler off then your still running it with the cats on, right??

  • Yes.

  • @tarrier10 Cats on means it's not true straight pipe. I'm not saying you should take the cats off, but with them on, it's not straight pipe. It's just muffler deleted.

  • Who installed your straight pipe or did you do it?? Have you any problems worth mentioning so far?? I'm considering doing this but I am not sure what the straight pipe will do because of these new computerized systems in the new jeeps....

  • It's not a full straightpipe. The shop basically took the muffler off and added a custom built pipe from there. So far no ill effects. It gets maybe .5 mpg less on the highway but better in the city.

  • Sounds Good, What lift and what size tires are you running? I like the stance! I also have an '08, Flame Red Door.

  • Old Man Emu 2 inch lift with long travel shocks and 34" Goodyear MTRs. Thanks!

  • Sounds great! that's the way it looks like it'll sound
