Maybe you can help prevent the replacement of the Community Garden in DC at 6th and Maryland Streets (SW). I was told it's been there since WWII as a Victory Garden and there is money being raised to turn it into a memorial to President Eisenhower. I'm all for honoring him, but how about a statue overlooking the garden? What better tribute could there be? It's now a tribute to life that paving it over as a plaza with placques could never replicate!!

Yes I have always had at least some pots with veggies behind my house, and my kids love veggies and whole grains and other healthy foods. I mean I let them eat all the candy they want, but they dont really care it about it much. They like the healthy food better! Also, I make gardens with the kids at school. They really love doing that! I think Reading Gardens are a really great way to help children learn about nature and healthy living. That's what the First Lady is doing with schoolchildren.
