when something is 4-liter, it means that its got 4 000 cubic cm!

Yes but doesn't Mazda use Ford technology, and vice versa? For example, I read that Ford Fusion uses a modified Mazda 6 platform plus an Aisin transmission that's also used by Mazda 6. Not sure about the Fusion's engine. IMO, being partly owned by Ford would NOT make Mazda products Japanese as Ford will always interfere with Mazda's operations.

Define ownership. Whoever has the most share owns a comp/corp. Ford used to own 33% of mazda, didnt last long they sold 20% of it. Ford now only owns 13% which made them just a co-owner.

I just test drove an s Grand Touring tonight. This is an incredible piece of machinery for the price so I can't believe why it hardly gets mentioned in the top 3 mid-size sedans, which are usually: Accord, Camry, Malibu. No respect at all.

i agree man its amazing car have u seen the comparisons, it smoke the honda accord and nissan altima in every way, mazda makes great cars, my 2000 mazda 626 es v6 have 150,000 miles trouble free miles only regular maintainance, at the end of the month im tading it in for this mazda 6, they should get way more respect

Mazda is one of the best kept secrets in the automotive engineering field, I owned a 1984 626LX for twenty years, put 365,000 miles on it. Solid and a fun car. Hardly never needed a repair. But then I just drove the new Chevy Malibu cross country for 6,400 miles. WOW. Nothing in its class compares. Maybe the Mazda 6 only.

The new Malibu finally has the Japanese import feel to the Nth degree. Power plus and handling like cars costing double. Top quality finish will fool you as An American car.

I test drove the 4cylinder and it's pretty quick and smooth, I'm sure the V6 is quicker though but more expensive though depending on trim level.

what are you talking about? In January 2009, the Mazda 6 sold 2,500 in US alone. Thats not groundbreaking numbers, but thats way more than 3

I`ve test drove this car and i think that it`s suspension is a lot stiffer compared to the altima, accord and camry...so don`t expect a good comfort ride feel in this car...but it`s power wise is not bad even the 4 cylinder might be enough to satisfy u...

By the way the 6 cylinder only comes with automtic, there is no manual transmission, and everyone knows that only girls drive automatics....LOL

They blew it with this new 6 for America. In Europe, they still get the hatch and the wagon (which i think looks the best) and it looks good. But in America, we get a big ugly "Americanized" sedan only car with the Manual only in the I-4. I really liked the old one better as it looked better and had the Manual with the bigger enigne.

I loved the looks of the older one, kind of a cross between japanese and european cars of the 90's. The new one though has this kind of softed art-deco inspired design (or is it just me who thinks so?) that i find also in nissan´s maxima and that i think americans love. To me it was made either for a global market each time more americanized (?) or enterly thinking in the USA as main target.

the reason ppl bought a mazda 6 cause it was small. WTF is with this shit as almost being as big as the Accord? WTF? and they focused on the 4cyl? Thats what they did last time. Man they should make their own v6 version and shouldve put it in this car, not the stupid cx9. Also they said you cant hear the car that much on full throttle? Wats the point of a sport (barely) sedan if it doesnt yell out to the rest of the world and say LOOK AT ME!man, I hope this new one is as nimble as the first gen!

Too big (+7") too heavy (nearly 3300lbs for the 6i and nearly 3600 for the 6s) too much like the camry and accord and not enough like the benchmark for the 1st gen 6: the 3 series.

Oh, and let us not forget how much of a change it is from the JDM/EDM 6: The 2nd gen 6i there weighs 3057lbs. What a joke

I think it looks good on a conservative note. It looks more upscale now. From the front it looks very Solara for me but the rear really seals the deal for me.
