  • nothing can stop the evacuation... nothing can stop the psychic vacuum!

  • Piggy killed me thank you Piggy for the sweet mental meltdown

    R.I.P.

  • These geniuses need a remaster. This is the best music in the world.

  • Like if you started trippin' at the moving album art.

  • i dont like this i like the first album toddly trash

  • A mishmash of different styles. Nothing else like Voivod.

  • Voivod was unique in many ways. If I were to label under a genre, I'd call them "alien metal", they were awesome.

  • @Gretgor666 "alien metal"! cool!

  • u just love the Album Cover! has been stuck in my head since i've seen it first time..

  • For me those are THE best guitar chords and evolutions on the earth and i know them from their start. Songs are great as for today

  • Dimension Hatross is my favorite Voivod record. This song, Macrosolutions to Megaproblems and Chaosmongers are my favorite tracks on the record. VOIVOD LIVES !!

  • First voivod album i heard. Strange at the time compared to the rest of metal But quite a revolutionary twist on the thrash genre.God they are good!

  • @SuperWooders First VoiVod foray for me was Killing Technology, the Tornado and Ravenous Medicine where the first ones I remember, then I got War and Pain

  • Macrosolutions to Megaproblems is still one of my favorite quotes, lol.

  • Only Voivod sounded like Voivod. Totally unique sound. Minor Chords more commonly heard on King Crimson albums than metal albums, lyrical inspiration ranging from Punk to political literature, and musical sentiments from prog rock to thrash.

    Totally themselves.

    R.I.P. Piggy

  • So right sir. For my ear, it seems to be a NYC Hardcore/So Cal hardcore blend . . . 50/50. As far as summining King Crimson, I love King Crimson, but I should take further review of both to understand.

  • Yep. King Crimson are superb.

Note that I don't compare Voivod with them though. I only made a note that some of their chord progressions were "Crimson-esque" and not usual metal fare.

However, I'm glad you seem to agree enough to lisen again. Likewise, I shall be looking into the NYC/So Cal Hardcore scenes. Some bands from the New York scene I'm familiar with, but have to say I draw a blank on So.Cal.

Any suggestions for bands from I should try out?

    Oh, and welcome to YouTube!

  • Hey bro, I just heard it again. I feel as though thay are in fluenced by every band, thay have collectively listened to while growing up. This for certain . . . You can't really peg this band.! As far as So/Cal Hardcore suggestions, here I go! Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Suicidal Tendencies. Also check the musical stylings of the Angry Samoans, No Fraud, D.R.I. , The Accussed and F.E.A.R. .But, you should start at the begining with The MC-5! I am sure you are familiar with The motor city 5

  • @krysylys Dark Angel...They kind of emerged in San fran, but they claimed LA before Metallica moved south, and before the hair bands took everything over.

    -Oz

  • @Ozlanthos hair bands took shit way before thrash, and Metallica moved North..

  • Amen

  • @krysylys Most were based squarely on Piggy's dreams and nightmares, the VoiVod concept was created before the songs.

  • The image reminds me of salad fingers

  • salad fingers xD funny^^

  • original, and ahead of their time!

  • genial!

  • VoiVod FoReVeR iN ThE ReAlM Of EtErNiTy

  • the vocals are the shit along weith the rest of the band

  • Why did chaoticslaughter's comment get negatives? I think "the shit" means it's awesome. And it undoubtedly is.

  • lol the shit always means cool, shit without the means shit xd

  • when this was released i've killed my ears and fingers learning it's delayed guitar dual/solo, BEST EVER

  • 87 or 88

  • I know, damn I forgot, but yes there was a video, PLEASE someone get this on here. This was one of the best albums ever made from any band.

  • GOD someone needs to upload the original video :(

  • Yes there is a video for this song. It is on Voivod's D-V-O-D-1 dvd.

  • Wasn't there a video for this song? I remember seeing it on HBB in '88
