It is cool how they use the old photograph to visually show who is in the band. Once they replace Pete with Ringo, the band becomes complete. The same guys remain together for years as the fab four.

ringo's drumming got to be REALLY good i think around sgt pepper, his fills and mix of styles became a vital part of the beatle sound, i think the early records are pretty ordinary drumming... except for things like 'rain' and 'i feel fine' and 'ticket to ride'...

Ringo is really an underrated drummer. Those fills of his, like in the beginning of Walrus and throughout A Day in the Life, they're just classic. He's so big a part of what I think of as the Beatles sound. Ringo's awesome. Pete, I feel bad for him, but he had to go.

Despite the way it was handled Ringo was the final ingredient added to this group i mean Pete Best was good for the early years but the Beatles were lacking something in their sound when Ringo became the drummer the final piece to the puzzle was completed.

I believe Pete Best ended up becoming a baker in Liverpool. It's a shame that he wasn't able to use his cache as The Beatles' original drummer to land himself another worthy gig in one of the other beat groups coming up.

@aarfeld he did and his new band shared the bill with the Beatles a couple of times too, but he was kicked out of the Beatles for a reason and that reason was why he ended up a baker

Pete Best was every bit as good a drummer as Ringo. When Ringo first went into the studio his drumming was not liked by the engineers either.

The famous quote, I think it may be attributed to John in the 70s, is that Pete was the better drummer, Ringo the better Beatle.

Agreed, I'm also familiar with that quote, john also said "we had Pete but we wanted the BEST drummer in Liverpool, Ringo!" and Pauls comments on the general air of dissatisfaction aimed at Pete toward the end, stuff about him being a bit 'one trick' and unable to cope with more delicate stuff, having said all that tho I'm sure if he hadn't been absorbed into that famous chemistry Ringo might've also ended up 'kneading dough' (see what i did there?)
