The eye witness accounts were suspect at best and can hardly be held up as a beacon of light. There is anecdotal evidence aplenty that he convicted minority defendants, and manipulated juries to do so, based on their race. All but two jurors in Mumia's case were whites who admitted to being racists during the voir dire. The few potential black jurors in the pool were excluded by prosecutors. Even if Mumia did shoot the racist cop thug, a legitimate case could be made that Mumia was merely defending his brother from being beaten to death by the dirty cop.

Just read what is posted, add that to the high racial tensions in the US during the 60s and 70s, systemic police corruption and the war on the Panthers mixed with unsubstantiated or absence of credible witnesses and you have a clear case for a mistrial, set-up, or complete facade of a murder trial.

The evidence presented was circumstantial at best, the witnesses were far from credible and the jury was comprised of people that do not constitute mumia's peers. This was not a trial about race either even though it is one aspect, this was a trial about power and control...

@august1876 I never once said that he was innocent or guilty. I merely pointed out the fact that the US justice system was incredibly biased and slanted during this period of time. The eye witness accounts were suspect at best and can hardly be held up as a beacon of light. All I have been saying is that the circumstances surrounding his arrest and subsequent guilty charges are dubious at best and worthy of a retrial. If these are incorrect statements than members of the intellectual community..

@august1876 On 8 June 1999, Arnold Beverly swore an affidavit detailing how he, not Mumia, killed Faulkner. Mumia never confessed to the murder, only continuously denied his involvement. Furthermore, Beverly's affidavit are on the original Daniel Faulkner Web site!

It is so infuriating that so many people have rallied around this cop-killer. There are SO MANY causes out there worth fighting for, why on earth would this be one of them. When I was in college, so many people were involved in "free mumia" but had NO idea about the case or the evidence. If you read the trial transcripts it becomes totally obvious he killed that poor man. I feel so sorry for Faulkner's family. I am against the death penalty, but Mumia is a horrible cause.

You should really read up more about the circumstances regarding this case and why things played out the way they did.
Even Amnesty International has deemed his trial as unfair and a violation to human rights.
