so glad I do not attend a church like this!!!! we accept all kinds!!!! GOD is GREAT!!!!! I started attending this AWESOME place in my darkest moments and all the people just came up and gave me a hug and WELCOMED me IN!!!!!!!!
I personaly went through this one time while traveling in smithfield nc .want to go this church on sunday.was stopped at top of steps by two or three in sults telling me I couldn't come in.because i did have a silt &tie clyde casstevens5 14-2011
You know I was thinking tonight that I hadn't heard any Johnny Paycheck songs in a long time. I've been going through youtube for an hour now listening to many songs that I've heard and many I haven't heard. I came across this song and after listening to it and actually hearing it before, it hit me like it has never done before. As a Christian for the last 15 years or so I can say with assurance that this man would probably be in Heaven long before some so called Christians. RIP Johnny!
nobody coulda said it better... it doesnt matter what you look like, or how you dress, the Lord will take you in.... just like he took ol' paycheck a few years back... respect him, and he will respect you
i love this song and all johnny paycheck songs some of his songs hit's home ive been listen to this music since i was born in 73 it makes me think of my late granddad. this song is has truth to it i can relate to this song RIP an we all miss you johnny paycheck an thanks for the memories. who will fill his shoes

@rll1954 At least he was trying. Nobody is perfect, not me, and not you either. So are you gonna piss and moan about other people's problems, or take care of yours?
@rll1954 You are wrong....the whole point of the song, and more importantly, of Johnny's life, is a testimony that no matter what kind of life you've led, when you turn it all over to the Lord, you are redeemed. Johnny turned his life over to God before he died. And today he sits at the throne of the Lord, wishing you would open your eyes......(I think I just wrote a country song)....We are humanity. We have all fallen short....Sadly, we will not all repent before it's too late. RIP Johnny
@rll1954 That's the part you seemingly fail to understand, no matter who or what we are when we turn our life over to the Lord he accepts us "just as we are"
The "old man" is dead, we become a "new creature in Christ"
All Christians are sinners saved by grace, not of ourselves but by grace.
THE POINT OR MESSAGE OF THE SONG IS JUDGEMENT.
Passing judgement on another because of dress, looks, or financial status is wrong, PERIOD.
Your "hate" toward Christians is apparent, God still loves YOU.
@toonful toonful the church me and my family go to is not like this please come and see us sometime chambers rd. macon,ga. holiness church first on rt. coming from log cabin d. rocky creek rd. be very glad to have you please come and see us you can shout dance do whatever the spirit tells you to. dress any way you like we'll just be to have you with us.
@toonful there is only ONE Church "the Body of Christ" the rest are buildings where his followers meet. The word of God says "come as you are" and if they will not let you in a building then they are NOT a part of the Body of Christ, so you are lucky because you DO NOT want to go where they are going.
This song is so true people are so ready to judge.WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE AND NOT WHATS IN YOUR HEART. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING DIDNT HEAR THIS ONE IN AWHILE
@lindalovesal This is so very true and the most prettiest song I ever heard..People really really need to listen very carefully to the words of this song because nothing could be any more true than this song..It should bring tears to everyones eyes that listen and touch their hearts..
hi,what a great song so true but we will not let the so called holy people put use down from what we beleave in,rip johnny, great video also song, from n.ireland
Big bucks anymore seem to run everything & religion is no different. But you have more compassion than that the poor we'll always have just like sick people, it doesn't take much to say a prayer or give a few dollars. I use to go to a Church they had wheelbarrows for collection plates & as I said use to. I hate that folks are like that giving the rest a bad name please don't judge us all like you probably do them.
We lost one of the finest ballad artists when Johnny passed away. May God rest his soul and he's is singing in heaven!! Wont ever be another like him ever!
@Mrbrianjohnson951 yes, indeed he did die years ago. But he was the best song writer ever. I have played with Waymore, Reeves, and Jerry Lee Lewis, but I will never forget my time with John. Touch My Heart....
Thanks Johnny for singing a song that's so true!!!!!!

AMEN, one of the truest songs I've ever heard, far to many "self righteous" people.
I Praise The Lord that it's not a denomination or religion, it's a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Johnny's brother was one of my best friends, cancer claimed his life a few years back, now Johnny is gone too, may they both Rest In Peace.

Awesome truthful prayer. By the way....Christ has not been in the "dot org" religious system for a very very long time.

Last I checked, Jesus does "take me as I am".
If we could change anything to make us mire acceptable, he wouldn't have had to die for us.

As an observation,
my Momma always said,
"You do what you know is right, what others do is on them.
I go to the House of GOD, bathed, combed,
dressed in best that HE provides me.
simply to show respect to the FATHER and prove what blessings GOD provides,
NOT to gain admiration of ,or to belittle other men I am the LAST Man to be Judging anyone,
I am accutely aware of My failings,
this is just an observation,
Great song , none the less.
